...It is difficult to abstract the mind from the pain when the interests with which you could distract yourself also cause you pain... But it would be the best thing to do...

This morning I took some pictures of the spring in Monte Adentro, which I hope will temporarily distract you..

.... N whith some little histories, If your don't stop me if it bored your...:

star crash , spring is rampant here, and all Monte Adentro is bursting with flowers. Weeks ago, shortly after I posted the photos of the return of the flamingos to the lagoons, the swallows came back too...
Every year, my friend, the same swallows come back again and again, to the same nest on the edge of the wall of my humble house...

They come defeated, exasperated...

They come from their other home, from their other nest, on some other wall of some other humble dwelling in Senegal or Mali...they have crossed the most dangerous Sahel, they have crossed an ocean of fire and sand, the Sahara...they have crossed over the Mediterranean, the foam of jumping dolphins, and the corpses of other travelers, humans who cannot fly, and their fragile overturned toy boats...they have crossed over the marshes of Doñana, boiling in pink with the agitation of the flamingos...
(...)

(...will continue if it dont bored ya... Its the automátic translator text 's max capacity too, je, je...)

... have flown up the Guadalquivir and flown over the towers of Seville, where once an Amir laid chains to restrain the Viking fierceness...have flown over Cordoba and its Mosque-Cathedral, from where a Caliph challenged Bagdag and proclaimed himself spiritual leader of all Islam. ...have ascended the step of Sierra Morena, where La Mancha falls and when falling becomes Andalucia...have flown over the forest where Don Quixote hid from justice after freeing the galley slaves...
...and they have reached the northern slope of the north side of the mountain where I live...and now, they, the swallows, too...

...have arrived with a breath of life, just...

They have perched as always on the same wire, at the height of my head...I could touch them. They barely move at first, freshly arrived, with their beaks open, and their little throats burning and thirsty for oxygen...

During those first moments on my and their cable, friend star crash, I watch them with concern, even anguish...their little breasts contract and dilate at a scary rate, afraid that they will suddenly explode in a shock wave of feathers and ossicles.... This is not going to happen like this, of course...but as a child I could observe some poor swallow fall fulminated shortly after landing at its destination, and I always fear that this will be the end of lives back and forth...

During that brief moment of uncertainty, which for me seems to last forever, I can't help but think that, for sure, sometime
one of them won't make it... Her little body will fall sometime from the sky somewhere in her biannual journey... Maybe it will fall next to the corpse of one of those other travelers who flew before, humans who don't know how to fly no matter how much they dream about it, some of them so young that they barely dreamed of it...
...I also think that sometime I will not be able to receive them anymore, nor will I be able to see my reflection in my niece's astonished eyes with the suicidal flights of them, of the swallows...

...And always returs (as the swallows) to me memory a sad song that the Brazilian folk star Caetano Veloso dedicated, in my language, to them, the swallows...:

"Where will it go?
swift and weary,
the swallow
that leaves here..

In case in the storm
should it be lost in the wind,
looking for shelter
and not finding it...
...Beside my bed
I'll put her nest
where it can
the season pass by...
...I am also
in the region, lost,
Oh, Holy Heaven!
and unable to fly...

I shall hear your song,
oh tender swallow;
I will remember
my own homeland and cry..."

Good Morning Mr. Star Crash!

That sucks about your right shoulder. I had some work done on mine and good as new. The process is bunk but the results excellent, hoping the same for you!

The site seems to be getting better, I don't visit nearly as much. Hopefully I will get the hang of it.

We have Crocus up here as well. Wouldn't it be nice if it just stayed late Spring like? I'm just hoping for a normal season weather-wise. No droughts, no floods, just normal. Wishful thinking I am sure!

Just wanted to say howdy my friend! Have a great Sunday!
