I don’t know ? wouldn’t smoke it yet, why should I press it yet
It helps if you press it a tiny bit wetter than how you like to smoke it in my experience. I pressed some stuff that was sitting all winter at 69%+rh sealed in a turkey. Stil let them dry 14days tho but whole plants to keep moisture. You dont want to press something in the low 50s rh

Consistent low 20s% return with 1 press, theyre def hash strains though which helps. I like it but time for a tolerance break.

It depends on how you plan to hash it but if its dry enough to be in bins you can hash and press it, the sooner the better for taste but its not much change as long as its treated well. I dry ice tumble the trim and flower i hash and it does good after a short 5 day dry. For ice water hash i would dry it for 3 days and put it in the freezer over night and then wash it. It will cure once its squished. After you get it squished and get it collected put it in a jar and keep it sealed for a few days and then stir it up a little and reseal for a few and it should be good. The hash pages on IG are the best pages. Thebryantist is a good one

Like he said above if you are pressing flower you want it a little wet but i would hash it especially if you are doing a bunch. If that is a flower bag being squished above thats awesome, they definitely don’t all squish like that.

really? I thought it doesnt play role with extraction.
Have heard a great deal about old hash masters letting their resin cakes sit for extended periods to cure and exude maximum effect. I love to let my pure sativas jar cure for at least 3-4 months and find 6 months perfect in a lot of cases. Usually still green or tinging golden. A lot of hybrids will be brown and unattractive by then, but there effects are still very well received by me. I don’t drink wine straight from the fermentation vat. I also don’t do a lot with extractions, but I bet aging to refinement holds true as well. It’s not what the needy dispensary kids want to see or smoke…but for heads, it seems to be something worth considering.

bubble hash yes, it gives some sense, but rosin I am not sure. I found this info, not sure if it is right or not:

"But for rosin makers, hash curing becomes a debatable subject at best. After all, the bubble hash we produce is almost immediately pressed into rosin after it is dried, it simply doesn’t get a chance to “butter out” or degrade in any way, and therefore doesn’t really benefit from an extended curing phase. It just doesn’t seem worth it to add weeks to your rosin production schedule for no particular reason."

but I really dont know, thats why I asked stracrash. rosin makers should know it :D

I havent made any extract in years hahahaha. I am satisfied with sieved resin...

I thought it gives sense for herb, not for extracts. but like I said I have no clue.

My friend has the press& he’s still learning how to do it but he’s getting good returns straight from the flower , it’s not a clear yellow like BHO, it’s darker green sappy sticky stuff… but Rosen is light years better then BHO
Green is chlorophyll. Not something you want in any kind of extract. Sure it will improve the returns but not in a good way.

I had no choice but to press flower in the low 50% range because that’s what I had on hand…I got 18% yield with MAC1…I can‘t imagine what kind of yield I’d get with more moisture in my flowers…a buddy of mine gave me some fresh flower of Hammer’s Kush and Chiquita Banana to press…I probably with do some today or maybe tomorrow when temps get back to reality here in Central NY

You can re moisture to the flowers to get it to the right humidity level before you press it

Yeah I’ve got 62% boveda packs in the jars and it’s not getting more moisture…I may try getting 69% boveda’s…but I just got some terracotta pieces of baked clay that are about the size of a silver dollar…the instructions say to soak them in distilled water for 5 minutes and then put them in your jar for no longer than an hour maybe less…but ya gotta keep your eye on the humidity levels…because it remoisturizes rather quickly
