thanks guys ...hopeful for a productive outdoor season

bobbo the indoor gets shut down completely for 6 months

lester
i've had several threads ...the 1st one i deleted most/all the pics ...that one was the original started back in '05 > '08(got busted bad in the fall of '08),then i started another back '09 ,but didn't really use it much till a couple of years ago, then it got big and clunky so i had skip lock it (all the pics are still there)

now i have this fresh new threadI'm currently waiting on a 20 lb bag of this >>>

in my area cannabis is a magnet for slugs and snails & left unchecked they will devour and damage a plant to the point of uselessness..i've always battled them mostly by hand picking every f*cking morning, but that's a losing war i wont abide this season..we have the tradition brown slugs & they can get fairly large, then there is a smaller black slug & worst of all are the glass snails ... trust me >>> they suck ...i'm planning on to start getting these little clones in the ground so they can get some earlier root development & thus less watering later on...last year i waited till July before i sank them and the watering was a real bitch

Slugs don’t like to cross copper, you can get copper mesh or wire and wrap the stalk at the base. Have to loosen it probably as it grows. Could also wrap a plastic bottle and put the bottle around the plants base.

Slug baits are often 5% iron or similar, if you are tracking inputs

thanks DB ... yeah all clones no seed plants...this is what i should have done last year....fate would have it that 50% of the crop is going to be your GB BX6 selection:) ...lets see how she does outdoors?

crappy day outside today not much happening ...i'm mentally working on planting strategy not sure how many of each i want to put in the ground

GG#4
Sour Diesel
Stardawg
GB BX6
Thin Mint
Mendo Breath
Hammers Kush
Blue Dream

What happened to the 2.0? Not a good outdoor variety? :chin:

had my hopes up about copper but some research makes me doubt it really works >>>

not at all i just messed up and didnt take cuts when i should have, & Chunky says she does well outdoors... matter of fact it may be my fav strain (based on potency) ...she is leafy and needs a lot of pruning be advised

I'm guessing all?

Hey Star, which Stardawg cut are you running?

it's the same one Stardog has ...that's all i can confirm ... i have his Sour Diesel as well , both of those are going in the ground...my choices so far ? GG4 is most definitely going in the ground, Gorilla Bubble BX6 >>> in the ground, Thin Mints >>> in the ground, Hammers Kush >>> in the ground ...i'll experiment with Mendo Breath & Blue Dream >>> in the ground...i'll be starting the outdoor planting any day now

here's a couple of room shots...looking forward for this room to be done...i'm weary of being cramped up ... here is a Mendo Breath... an A+ $$$ high velocity amazing indoor strain to run(much thanks to DB) >>>

a slug will never cross salt, you'd need to keep it from your plants as well, but that shouldn't be a rocket science issue either :dunno:

Hey starcrash are you still using Roots Organics ferilizers? I recently used their bloom booster HPK. The NPK is 0-4-3 with 3% calcium and 1% magnesium. I can't say enough about it. Its always fun reading your threads best of luck outdoors this year.

Thanks for the heads up Star...I’ll see how leafy she gets outdoors and I will be at the ready if the leaves get out of hand. It’s nothing that I haven’t done before. I’ve got a juicy fruit pheno that is basically the same way. She is also an early finisher like mid September. I can’t get her out too early otherwise she’ll start to flowering and then go into a stall until outdoor light plays well with her. A pita but I really like her!!!

i may have a lot of plants in the ground to protect( if i get aggressive), the worst months are june and july...the idea this year is to kill, not repel ... i squished 1000's last year by hand ...lol yuck? things like salt and dichotomous earth will work, but loose effectiveness when they get wet... i want to bait & kill...i sprinkle a light circle around the drip line of the plants & they eat this stuff hopefully then go away and die and it will last thru a few rains which is the helpful point for me

www.neudorff.co.uk/products/sluggo-slug-snail-killer.html

this what people use here for snails and slugs.. i just leave it to luck

or they make beer can traps

might try that as well if mine don't work >>>
Metaldehyde is the active ingredient

thx Funk ... i did not continue with the roots organics(not because the product wasn't good, it was very good) problem is cost ... lot of $ to feed a 4K grow for 6 months with it & i need to save where i can because income is very tight around here

with 2.0 it's more that you need to prune out the all the inner branch's to let the light have exposure to the plant... that's the issue >>> she has an excessive amount...she will choke herself out if U don't do that...peace

The copper helps, wouldn’t call it 100% though, if it’s kept shiny.

I’ve only used the sluggo brand slug bait. It helped for a few weeks, found less slugs.

I never had a huge problem with slugs like it sounds you do. They were getting on poppies for me one spring.
Never tried the metaldehyde, might work better than sluggo. I’m sure you saw the warning label about pets, they need treatment in time with that if ingested.

planting time .. i got 6 in the ground this morning , having the holes semi pre-dug saved me a lot of sweat... i use a long blade heavy duty spade like this >>> (and a pick ax)

https://www.razor-back.com/tool/sho...de-with-fiberglass-handle-and-cushion-d-grip/

cut a wide circle and yank out the sod cover ...dig out the perimeter and loosen the soil remove the rock, my native soil is very good, @ this site it's rich w/earthworms & unfarmed ...threw down a handful of granular fert sunk the small plant .water, and replace the sod cover upside down..sprinkle the dripline with slug bait ...done >> five StarDawg's and one Thin Mint in the ground... so this will be the routine for the next week or so until i'm satisfied:dance013:

i'm always afraid of attracting skunks possums and raccoons with bone meals and blood meals and the like...that's why i don't use them...gonna stay on top of my feeding this year ...last year i slacked on the nitrogen and it hurt >>>i had to play catch up as they went into flower

The dirt looks ok. It's the rocks and those metal things that don't look like fun digging up. I looked up the cost for rental of an 8" power auger, $77/d at a certain orange colored national hardware chain store.
