SSH in coco

gettin some good tips JWS....I'd train , bend, twist or whatever you wana do to that SSH...We have a few goin and they are very Sat to start and I agree to not Top in first runs or 2...but super-crop, train, SnM..why not as theres only 2 main phenos to SSH..a Super Sat and a more Indica...not sure bout yours but ours are def mainly Sat doms..you look like you have a few good mixed ones..keep rollin

Three Super Sliver Haze and the Mongrel. All the SSH are extremly similar. Mongrel is the bastard in the back. SSH 1 is a week ahead of the other two and Mongrel is a week behind them.

So here are the readings I have arived with tap ppm=221 & ph is 7.4. I was runing 5mlA + 5mlB and that had me @ 531ppm & 7.1ph. So I'm thinking Im gonna switch to 8mlA + 8mlB that puts me @ 804ppm & 5.9 ph.

That is a Mag def for sure. You are getting this because you are starving them. Why are you using the Canna AB at only half strength? Why are you flushing AND starving at the same time? That is why your plants are so tiny for their age.

This board is full of morons whose answer to everything is flush. Use common sense. How in the world can you overfert a plant at only 500 ppm? Once they have roots and leafs hit them full strength in coco or you will have problems. I understand that people are timid, but think about it, 500ppm only! And 200 of that is the water! That means you are only giving them 300ppm! Use your brain dude.

I think I got mag def also, my tap water is EC 0.2, dunno what's the EC->ppm conversion factor for your meter, if it's 700 your EC was 0.7 that's definitely way low...
the good news is fixing lack of something is way easier than fixing an excess!

I added dolomite lime to my coir to fix the mag def...

Are you still vegging them? did you supercrop or anything? they look very bushy for sativas...

BlindDate is pretty right on. Sometimes its not always "flush it to fix it".
2.5-5ml Cal/Mag per G shoudl take care of that mag deficiency...

Also I agree that your PPMs are way low. I use Canna nutes at 50% for the most part, but thats becasue I am trying try to hit the PPM levels they reccommend for whatever stage of growth I am feeding. running it at 50% for me works because my tap h20 is 350ppm. Check their website - they have an online grow calculator you can use to create your own feeding schedule... aiming for their suggested PPM range though is the way I do it with Canna.

Canna Coco rules. Its so easy. Just step back, take a rip , and then proceed.

PPM & PH meters are a very important tool. Need to have them.

"804ppm & 5.9 ph" is within the range Canna suggests (ec 1.0-1.5/ppm 700-1050) for vegging plants...

Are you just following the bottles' directions or did the shop provide you wit some sort of grow schedule?

Not here to make myself feel cool here to help you grow better plants. If I want to feel cool I can go stand in front of my ladies.

BTW 5g is HUGE for coco plants... how big are you wanting them to finish at? A cool thing about coco is you can grow pretty huge plants in a relatively small container because of the aeration the roots get in the medium. Just something for you to think about.

Greyskull its not you. Youve been cool from the begining. I was following Zoo's schedule. I'm more worried about burning these than anything else. I have done it before in soil and if you have burned plants before you know the fear it can instill. I have thought about switching to 3gal. I am interested to know how big they could get in 5gal. Does anyone have some sort of comparrison? Thanks again Greyskull.

I hear you about the burning... way better to be safe than sorry.
About the 5g pots... if you want to utilize those best IMO you should veg the plants until they are 3ft tall so by the time they are done they will have used up/filled out the 5g pot with little/no wasted space. Plants grow big in little amounts of coco.
Thats my 2 more cents anyway.

Grayskull won't be vegging for 3feet too much? they'll reach 6feet minimum in flower or will the "constrained" container slow their stretch? I noticed they stretch madly when transplanting...

That plant was vegged for 4 weeks from a rooted clone. I flipped it when it was almost 5 ft tall in the bucket. She stretched another 2.5 ft.
