yeah horseshoe crabs have been around for like 200 million years. They're actually arachnids.
That's a brown recluse spider & the usual result of a typical brown recluse bite.
about 3 or 4 years ago I was out in my garage and could feel something watching me, I turned around and up in the rafters was what looked like a cheap '60s B movie radioactive huge wolf spider, I caught myself suckin' a sharp short breath & boot scootin' as we say in the country, yup I ran like a bitch, a wimp, a sissy.......
I came back shot it dead.

Man I am 6'5", 225lbs( and not afraid of much but ) I am afraid of spiders! Not the site of them but lets say I was walking through the woods and walked into a web.... I FRRRREAK!!!!!
But I do not kill spiders for the whole insect killing thing. I have no problem getting them on a newspaper and throwing them outside.
I knew a guy that crashed his car over a spider dangling off his visor. Trying to swat it off in a panic lost control due to some track issues & kissed a pole.
I'm not thrilled about any creepy crawlers. If they want to die all they have to do is show up in my home. I'll get my GF to handle it, I take care of the wolves. Apparently as a child I was bitten once by the spider that lived on the ceiling of our bedroom. Behind the knee, ouch, but I don't recall much about that, except it happened, what else. I brake for snakes.
One of my favourite cartoons gave me the power to defeat all.
Those spiders above look like BBQ material.

Im pretty sure that camel spider or whatever it is is fake... As for spiders they are cool. They are carnivores and humans usually arn't on the menu. A brown recluse is obviously another story, but ive never seen one.

I've had arachnophobia as long as I can remember. The only spiders I let live are daddy long legs, and only if they agree to my terms (stay up in your corner).
I remember, as a small child, watching a spider drop down from his web on the drapes. I just happen to be laying on the floor under him. I screamed like a little girl, and was paralyzed. My mom had to grab me by the ankles and pull me away. I've also been attacked by spiders twice. Both times, I was asleep, and woke up to multiple (like dozens) of bite marks, and major swelling. Luckily, I have a nurse for a mom, and she always had something to fix me up. I don't freak out as much these days, but they do still creep me out. I do not tolerate them.
I have also been hospitalized by texas black ants swarming me. Stung by a bee in the face a while back too- swelled up like the elephant man. I guess I have a allergic reaction to bug bites.
So, maybe my phobia is justified. Sorry to all the spiders I've killed that didn't try to bite me, but the rest of you ruined a good thing

Not sure why I even looked at this thread! spiders freak me the hell out! ..Ill tell ya why Gypsy, they are ugly creepy furry nasty ugly creepy awful awful things! If one gets to close to me I will physically feel sick, makes my skin crawl and I cry! hehe
Just looking at the pics of those spiders is bad enough, and theres a spider conversation at least once a week in chat! and everyyyyyone loves to put up pics of the biggest spiders they can find!! haha

bought mad bombs for tha crib.
to be honest i was more worried about my dog wrather than myself cuz i can see the initial bite on my skin..
