They're easy to get rid of if you use Subcool's method. He used 4 TBLS Spinosad per gallon for soil drench or 2 TBLS per gal for foliar spray. But 1-2 ounces per gallon for soil drench works. It kills the larval cycle. It's systemic though so there would be traces of Spinosad in the buds. But it's from an organic bacteria and breaks down fast in soil and light supposedly.That sounds like a great idea. I don' think there's anything like that available where I live though.
So glad I don't have russet mites. Spider mites are bad enough. My other biggest pest fear is thrip, so far so good.
Predators are my preferred method though. That is if ISO spray doesn't take care of them. Amblyseius cucumeris is the first thing I'd order if I got thrips. And some hypoaspis miles since they're cheap and will eat the thrips in the soil.
