Here's a hint: the first letter is the same as the last letter.

there was a king that ruled 10 lands, each land had their own coin, the coins were supposed to wiegh a pound each. now 1 land was cheating and skimped off 1oz from each coin. the king had to find out which land was cheating him, but he had a scale that he could only use 1 time. how does he find out which land was skimping?

"strengths" is the word i was thinking of. "scratched" also works, good job. Maybe there are a few more. . .

Watch the scale every time another coin is placed on, and the one that does not make the scale reach a whole pound incriment, is the cheat?

I had alot of trouble wording that... still does not sound too great...

Or perhaps i make this too easy... did you mean that he could only load the scale once, all ten coins at a time? Or that he could not take anything off the scale and then put another thing on it?

Man, i have not been this sober in a LONG while...its affecting my thinking in a negative manner.... wierd... So please be nice if I dont make any sense.

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is

laguage. "there are only three words in The English Language" ...Language is the third word.

You guys had it right, Knowledge. But Wisdom works too.

the answer is as follows-

you put 1 coin from the first land, 2 coins from the second, 3 coins from the third,.....and 10 coins from the tenth land, and how ever many ounces the weight is off that is your skimper.
so if you are 7 oz off it was the 7 land.
