Snype's Cloning Formula For Root Nubs In 3 Days!

No need to push it above 2.5 ppm. I was just wondering. Ever add hydrogen peroxide? Or do they conflict? Or is it just not necessary?

And dude, hats off to you. :tiphat: You got me psyched about cloning again. It is sooo nice to not worry if they'll make it. 100% works for me.

While experimenting with Chlorine I put too much bleach in and the roots died within 1 day. I just must have put too much in.

Or you used the wrong type of Bleach. Clorox sells another kind of bleach with the word "Ultra" on the bottle. Don't use this because it will kill your plants. Only regular Clorox with no added scents and no splash guard.

Thanks for the tip :respect:
It works every time.
I'll spread the word.

BTW : This is a ez cloner I got in late 07- earlyish 08. Never feckin worked for me until a few months ago when I got turned on to this method.
Thanks again !!

I got that same old cloner but mines from around 2002. That's how I came up with these techniques from having the same problems. I just kept trying new things and updated someones formula that was a lot different but I tried to think about it in a similar mindset. Glad that all you guys are having success!

im my cloner i use a couple drops of bleach in 2 gallons of water with .5ml of sm-90 cause i like the smell lol

when clones get transplanted in coco i use h202(29%) in conjunction with bleach.

roots are killer

hope that helps lux :D

Would poor water quality in this sense of the word have a detrimental effect on other forms of cloning? ie jiffy pucks and the like?

Just wanted to throw my 2c in here. The Superthrive in question must be understood at Snype's application rate. Meaning, the normal application rate of this bottle is 1 drop per gallon. A standard milliliter is 20 drops. At 3 milliliters per 10 gallons (Snype's Superthrive application rate) we are talking about a 6 fold increase from the recommended application rate. Just wanted to throw that out there for those trying to digest all this and possibly make sense of it.

BTW Snype, my Veg-A is bursting with ghost white roots. Still waiting on the pump housing :*(

Superthrive's bottle suggests 1 drop per cup...and then they define a 'cup' as 120 ml.

Their other dosages are:
3 fl. oz/100 gallons (which comes out to ~1 ml/gal)
or
1 tablespoon/15 gal (which comes out to 1 ml/gal).

Snype's formula is 0.3 ml/gal. So his formulate is 1/3 ST recommended dose and comes out to 0.04 ppm of IBA.

Also, keep in mind, there is certainly other auxins b/c the product is made from fractionated kelp extract which is known to contain IAA (and in one study a mention of IBA) which can be purified (or fractionated) away from the kelp's other non-PGR components.

Free chlorine is affected by ammonium salts in you nutrients.

Add chlorine first and let it circulate. It performs best at pH 6, but GH's ph down has ammonium salts so use another brand without ammonia salts like Adv. nutes which is phosphoric acid.

Anyhow, add the chlorine first and let it circulate at pH 6 to be most effective. Then, after you add your cuttings, then add you toerh ingredients which will drop the free chlorine.

personally i think this is doing too much

I just add a drop or two per gal at the end of mixing my nutes simple as that. throw the water in the cloner change out every 4-5 days.

big roots quick

thanks snype bro again going old school and trying your rockwool method soon just to change things up.

sad to see you got banned idk what happened but always gave out solid info.

First of all, I don't see how adding chlorine first is "doing too much"?

Second: "Sodium hypochlorite and ammonia react to form a number of products, depending on the temperature, concentration, and how they are mixed.[15] The main reaction is chlorination of ammonia, first giving chloramine (NH2Cl), then dichloramine (NHCl2) and finally nitrogen trichloride (NCl3). These materials are very irritating to the eyes and lungs and are toxic above certain concentrations; nitrogen trichloride is also a very sensitive explosive."

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleach

Obviously my suggestion is not "too much" b/c I simply suggest adding it first...rather than last. Secondly, there are many publications that demonstrate that chlorine reacts w/ ammonia making its addition first more effective than last.

Finally, my suggestion was not intended to somehow 'put down' or discredit Snype's contributions. They're an addition and intended to build upon his priceless knowledge and experience.

We're all working upon others' knowledge and experience. I was simply adding mine, and it's well sourced and I've done the chlorine testing to realize this. Chlorine will dissipate and/or be sequestered by ammonia. (period).

You have to change your cloner out every 4-5 days? now THAT'S too much. I simply add my chlorine first and changing my cloner after transplanting 60 clones.
