hey. how did this go? I was actually looking at the empty space above my car radio (where you can normally put other attachments) and thought it shouldn't be too difficult to get an old car radio case and hack a small vape into it. The only concern is how to use it stealthily when other cars are looking at you. whips and bags are suspicious. I suppose one way is to have it fill the entire car with vapor :)
Easy, make the end of the whip resemble a large fountain drink cup with straw!!! :dance013:

I smoke in other peoples cars all the time. Don't do it when you have #s or trees at your vehicles registration address.

Really just shouldn't do it period, you don't wanna get rolled and gain the reputation of being a pothead, even in cali or other med states. LEO should not know your first name.

I used to smoke on the road all of the time..

I used to smoke on the road all of the time..

I used to smoke on the road all of the time (30+ years), but I rarely do now.

A lucky day :rtfo:

One day I was driving home from work on a major street in the San Fernando Valley, in my Suburban (the kind with the rolled down tailgate) and I saw some cops on the other side of the street looking at me. I was smoking a joint. I ate the joint and roll down my windows and the back window. The pressure from the back cleared all of the smoke out immediately. I saw the cop car make a "U-turn" a number of cars behind me and is driving in the median, and the cop on the passenger side sticks his head out to see if he could smell anything. The smell was long gone and so were they. They turned back around and I breathed a sigh of relief. I actually only had 1 joint on me, so they couldn't have done much.

An interesting note :tiphat:

I was driving down Pacific Coast Highway this summer, just came off the canyon roads, going to the beach. I'm not smoking, as I have my father-in-law in the car with me (actually don't do it anymore). Then I noticed out of nowhere a cop car right on my tail. It looks like he is running my plates. Further down the road they are stopping all kinds of cars and pulling them over. This was the first time I had ever seen a checkpoint in the middle of the day.

They had a guy (plainclothes) standing on the median looking to see if you had you seatbelt on. They were pulling people over for seatbelts, expired registration, warrants, and who knows what else.

I couldn't believe it! When we left (back the way we came) they were still pulling people over.

Watch it on PCH.

we got checkpoints here off and on all the time, i blaze and so do many other folks i know while driving, some who grow and some who do not, we pretty much all have medical paperwork, i've blazed an entire jay while speeding only minutes later to be pulled over, officer says it smells like a joint when he walks up and i just say "oh sorry officer, i have my medical paperwork here somewhere, the medical marijuana is either in this backpack on the passenger seat or my luggage in the back, sorry...." got a speeding ticket and that's it, i should not have been driving that quick at all i'll admit, it's a bad habit

Smokefrogg,

I had an acquaintance get stopped with 8 ounces in his truck, showed his card and got a ticket for not wearing his seatbelt.

That's when I got mine. :smoke:

i smoke in other people's cars occasionally. things are somewhat different here but..

i drive an ancient land rover truck so if i was to smoke i'd just open all the front vents and windows and one of the rear windows, tunnel of wind would clear the smell very quickly. I usually pre-roll if i'm going somewhere i will be smoking unless it's a party or something and i usually try never to carry more than i can realistically eat unless it is smellproofed and very well concealed. I don't seem to arouse the kind of suspicion that gets one a check by the dogs.

never smoke in the truck (although i have). we don't have many checkpoint type things but usually if we do they're for using illegal fuel or stuff like that. Our police have licence plate recognition so they can learn about the car and you easily and quickly. My plate, being that my car is so old, is of an older design which is not readable by the scanners.. undecided as to whether this brings suspicion or anonymity lol

i got no history with the police, no criminal record... it's just not worth having a doob on the move just in case i do get pulled over & they smell it.. on a short journey i wait, on a long trip i'll pull over somewhere quiet and smoke outside the car.. been smoking in public without getting caught for over a decade so i'm more comfortable with it.. plus.. its a real headache here getting caught in a vehicle.. can cause all sorts of problems including multiple year ban from driving, impound/confiscation of vehicle, massive fines, raids on your home, etc.. getting caught with half a doob you were smoking on foot away from your car is maximum a street caution and most cops would just tell you off and get you to dump it down a drain if you seemed decent and sorry.. lol

If I were to answer this poll fifteen years ago, I'd have to answer "every day". Today it's "never". I am not comfortable with the risks, and quite frankly I just don't feel the need to smoke so bad that I can't wait until I get home.

Haven't blazed in the ride since I got caught speeding down the freeway smoking a fat ass jay three years ago. God/luck/karma whatever you want to call it was on my side though cause he was a "cool" pig and he only made me grind it up on the side of the road instead of arresting me like he could have. Got the speeding ticket and learned my lesson from that point on, no more blazing in the ride for me!

Your rights on the road are subject to " I smell _____" anytime. This sucks but as stated before behave on the road and dont drive a blacked out Escalade on 24's, should be OK. NS

In 1979 I smoked weed in my car in the courthouse parking lot while my buddy was inside getting his shotgun back that the cops took away from him the month before. Back then we never even tried to hide it unless you were near a cop or parent. Now days I would never smoke in a car. Cops are DUI happy around here. Don't admit to even one beer or any legal, pharmaceutical, medicine.

The majority of possession citations/arrests come from people getting pulled over in their car.

Don't fool yourself: you may THINK your car doesn't smell like pot after blazing that tree, but you really don't know that: you have been subjected to the smell for so long, you are not a good judge whether it still smells in the car or not. Cigarette smoke lingers for days even if it's just one cigarette.

Just the smell alone is enough probable cause for the cop to search you and the car to his/her satisfaction.

So, let's think the risks through:

You get pulled over- speeding, swerving, rolling stop, etc. There is one ticket
Cop smells pot in the car, he now has complete ability to search you and your car.
Pot is found and so is any papers or pipes. There are two tickets: possession of cannabis and paraphernalia.
You get a sobriety test run. If you do the test and fail, you get DUI charge and lose your license for 90 days and have to go to jail for 3-30 days. If you refuse the test, your license may get suspended for a year on an administrative charge of refusing to submit to a sobriety test.
Your car gets towed if you are deemed driving impaired.
In some jurisdictions, simple possession can get your vehicle seized. Good luck getting it back.
God help you if you have a child in the car while getting high. They may take your kid away from you.

If you get even a simple drug possession in the USA, you may have difficulty traveling abroad to countries like Canada, or European countries.

Also, ANY drug charges gets reported to the FBI. Most states in the USA now have laws preventing you from ever owning a gun for the rest of your life, regardless how old the charge is. If you catch a simple drug possession case and are found to own or even possess a gun, that is a FELONY.

Also, a drug conviction may prevent you from joining the military or getting a job in the federal government. It certainly will be an issue if you have to get security clearance.

I don't see any long-term upside for driving and getting high. Do you?

i agree you are completely batshit crazy driving without a license is straight to jail. nvm how do you register and insure the vehicle?

Here in Michigan we have hefty drivers responsibility fees. You get charged by the courts for driving infractions then the state charges you again and you must pay the fee two years in a row to keep or get back your license. I currently owe 8000 in drivers responibilty fees. No license in sight. The good thing is about 35% of the people in our state are in the same boat. Michigan has a real hard time locking up unlicensed drivers so its pretty much a just a fine unless you get in an accident and hurt someone. They do have to take you to jail but its usually book and release because they dont want to pay to house and feed you either. I have had 4 driving with out a licenses now and not spent more than a few hours in the clink for any of them. My bigest fine was $500. Plus more drivers respons. fees... Check points are illegal around here. All they can do is set by the edge of the road and look in your car as you drive by to see if you have a seat belt on you dont have to stop or slow down. I would hate to live in a police state were I might have to stop at a check point and show my drivers license. If we did that in michigan One check point could fill up 3 counties impounds in 10 minutes. As far as puffin in the car I dont like to but my old lady has to so we do . Only when she is driving. Never with weight in the car. Also I know I got to get booked when I get pulled over so I never travel with more than my med cards allow. The only time I was ever pulled over with out realy being in the wrong was when i took a black co-worker to lunch with me. I pulled in a drive-thru behind a state cop..... Wrong answer he seen a black dude that looked gangster next to a staight up hick red neck "me" in a ford bronco. We were probably 40 miles from where anyone of color should normaly be. As soon as the cop got his food he pulled to the side . I knew we were hit. He said he pulled me over for the air freshner hanging from my mirror but I think he was expecting a drug bust.

smoking in your car is about as dumb as it gets. if you want to eventually get busted be my guest.

where i live there is a huge problem with drunk driving especially among teens. they have check points set up all them time. i have even seen them in the middle of the day.

i have to much to lose too. i can't risk having my license taken away because i was dumb and needed to get stoned. typically i only smoke at home or at friends house, and then i only carry what i think i can smoke there so i don't carry anything back home.

i don't need to give the cops any reason to search my home. they see my dank shit and there inclined to think there is more at home, or that i am well connected. this ain't califorgnyaaye.

True story...

Me and two other dudes veered across ~200 yards of grass median between interstate lanes. It was raining like hell at night and the driver hit a bong. He got a major head rush and next thing I know we're off to the races.

We got really lucky as we approached and entered the oncoming interstate lane. IMO, approaching cars were no closer than a half mile. We started yelling at the driver to wake up and dodge the guard rail.

As quickly as we veered into the oncoming lane, the dude driving came to and zipped directly back across the grass median. The dude pulled over and I drove the rest of the way.

The whole time, I was surprisingly calm. But the dude riding shotgun flipped the fuck out. How he didn't sh!t his pants I'll never know.
