I'd be surprised if Johnny Depp never tried a drug. Even if he makes that claim, which I seriously doubt he does. You can't live with Hunter S. Thompson for six months, trying to get down every nuance of his personality, and not do drugs. Plus, do you think Hunter would let someone live with him for even a week without indulging?

Oh yeah, and Bob smoked pot...

Bing Crosby

(Taken from this site http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/legalize/famous2.htm)

Louis Armstrong's influence on Bing extended to his love of marijuana, which he alternately called mezz (after Mezz Mezzrow), gage, pot, or muggles. Bing didn't develop the lifelong appetite for it that Louis did, but he enjoyed it in the early days--it was legal--and, like Louis, surprised interviewers in the 1960s and 1970s by suggesting it be decriminalized, to set it apart from more harmful and addictive drugs. Bing's eldest son, Gary, argued that pot had a lasting effect on his father's style: 'If you look at the way he sang and the way he walked and talked, you could make a pretty good case for somebody who was loaded. He said to me one time when he was really mad, ranting and raving about my heavy drinking, he said, "Oh that fucking booze. It killed your mother. Why don't you just smoke some shit?" That was all he said but there were other times when marijuana was mentioned and he'd get a smile on his face. He'd kind of think about it and there'd be that little smile.'"

Dax David Riggs (born 15 October 1973 in Evansville, Indiana, United States), is an American musician from Houma, Louisiana often remembered for fronting the sludge band Acid Bath in the 1990s. Dax has been a part of many projects since then, including Agents of Oblivion and deadboy & the Elephantmen. In 2007 he began releasing material under his own name. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.

Acid Bath was a seminal heavy metal band from southern Louisiana. What made Acid Bath unique was their mix of doom metal, hardcore punk and psychedelia. This was primarily accomplished by the vocal stylings of Dax Riggs which could range from a guttural growl to a Roy Orbison-esque wail in mid-song. Indeed, on their second album, Paegan Terrorism Tactics, the band thanked the ghost of Roy Orbison for his help in creating their sound. The band was also noted for Dax's imaginative and distinctive lyrics which often featured themes of death and drugs.

i've been looking for an "ad hominem" list for a while now

keep 'em coming, especially scientists

all information gathered from this thread will be presented to at least one congresswoman on the fence, and posted to a permanent website

actors n stuff are okay, i think it's the scientists, the nobel prize winners that are going to carry the weight. i wish i could find something on mozart.
