Clean power?

I don't know what your definition of "clean power is" but what I can tell you is that 220V is nothing else but 2x110V phase = 220V.

There's absolutely nothing more or less clean about 220V vs 110V unless you are talking solar power or something... ;)

In a normal household environment, quite a few of the devices you use in your 110 volt circuits create electromagnetic fields in the wiring that can have health consequences and make people ill. That's where I first came across the term "Dirty Power". Not only can these cause health issues, but they can have an effect on high output devices, such as ballasts.

By cleaning up these EMF's with devices such as Stetzerizer filters, you can clean up the quality of power delivered throughout your system.

By running your ballasts on separate 220 volt circuits, you avoid alot of dirty power problems that plague 110 volt circuits running in the house caused by appliances, and you dont have to lay out the money for the
Stetzerizer filters.

I've heard claims that the
Stetzerizer filters will save money on electricity in houses that are running 1kw ballasts on 110 volt circuits with alot of appliances.

"Dirty power" is a term normally used in industrial electricity to refer to unconditioned power unsuitable for sensitive electronics. Solenoid valves, contactors, and relays all produce a "kick" on the line that raises hell with sensitive devices. This type of power anomaly is much rarer in a residential setting, and I think that any health hazard attributed to it is simply damn good marketing. The voltage that you utilize is not going to have any impact on the presence of these line disturbances - 240v is simply two legs of 120v, so anything present on one is going to be on the other.

go with the flip box buddy, it wont show a 12/12 sig which I think is what your worrying about.

doesnt matter your usage so much, paranoid people think it does, but the reality is with millions of customers using a wide variety of kwh a month, the electric company as plenty to keep them busy to bother doing the polices work for them

cops to not find out about grows from power bills, they find out from snitches, then use a power bill to get a warrant, then tell the papers it was from a tip and a high power bill so it scares people away from growing indoors

Dude......you really really REALLY need need to revise your knowledge about your statement.

Please REALLY DO!

Well The Phoenix ....we can make this a science...or just grow weed.

LOL..... Dude, growing weed is a science whether you choose to think so or not.

Running on a separate 220v circuit has many advantages. I guess you like to use bold letters huh.

I do agree with you though, just grow weed!

Wow...you're actually one of those falling for what marketing is trying to make so many to believe.

Someone gotta pay their bills... :)

However....

I don't fall for anything Strainhunter. I worked in an industry for decades with electrical engineers that made space exploration possible. I know the effect that EMF's have on circuitry and human beings.

But anyway, I still don't believe anyone will get busted by by using flip-flop with smart meters, which is the subject of this thread.

The Phoenix you stated growing weed IS a science.

Marketing is trying to make everyone believe it IS a science to grow pot so people who believe that buy their stuff.

Growing weed is a rather natural process but often complicated by profit hungry Marketing specialists.

You know...the more complicated something is being made...the more can (and does) go wrong.

Maybe if you feel like it please check my current grow. I use one fertilizer and no additives.
With every grow I achieve over 8lbs under 4kw.
Other growers who buy a whole barrage of products achieve less weight, even with the same strain.

Personally I started growing well before computers became a common occurrence. I gained my knowledge through "trial and error".
There were no forums and no internet to ask questions.
Back when I started most people did not even know how Marijuana looks like!

Anyway...I firmly believe in KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) and I do very well with it and that @ minimal cost relatively seen.
Can't count my location in to the cost though, that would be unfair. ;)

Maybe if you applied a little science to your 4 kw setup, you could clear a gram per watt and pull 9 lbs or more. That's alot of juice and money to burn for not clearing a gram per watt.

Ummm.... I wrote I get over 8lbs/4kw's
(and yes I do know 8 USlbs are not 4,000 grams lol)
I gave away a stuffed 2 Gallon size bag before weighing it so I don't have exact total weight, however it very likely was over 4,000 grams total but I am pretty sure below 9lbs
(4,082 grams).

And I don't pay for the electricity burned through.
We don't even have meters where I live
(and grow).

And making my grow a science where I live would likely make the whole operation very unreasonable. It kinda already is already. lol

whatever you say buddy, your one of the paranoids im talking about

proof is in the pudding, where are all the smart meter bust? couldnt find a single one using google and 20mins of my life.

If not already, they will DEFINITELY be checking for 12/12 patterns before long...

All he is asking is IF there will be the surge every 12 hours on the dot... simple question.

To say that "oh well they don't worry about 12/12 just go for it" is ridiculous.

someone with logic... good to see :jump:

yea if things like that scare you then your probably best to not grow herb

I didnt see anything about a 12/12 sig, or smartmeters in that article

out of all the people growing herb in austin, 5yrs ago, one cops, obtains records from a city owned utility company, and busts one guy and a couple minions

its called thinning the herd, 1 guy who owns multi properties and was clearly running a couple large ops is what got him pinched, theres another 2000 people on that list that didnt get busted

The last place I lived just started using smart meters. I had a question on my bill so I went to the power company and a rep took me to her desk. She brought up my meter on her PC.
It showed in real time the power use. I called my wife and had her turn on a air conditioner.
It showed the spike and increase in power use in real time. Every time the refrigerator cycled it showed and for how long the cycle took. Even if you are running a 400 watt bulb. 12 on and 12 off will show. What appliances do you have that runs 12 on at the same time every day. Even flip flopping that would show that you have at least 4 100 watt incandescent lights running 24 hours a day. With the mandatory demise of incandescent bulbs coming. You would have to have around 16 CFL bulbs running 24/7. Running 1000 watts 24/7 will be the same as running 40 CFL bulbs in your home 24/7. Needles to say I found another place to live.

Me?

Could you please tell me why I am one of those paranoid ones? Seriously!

Where I live we don't even have power meters and my 4kw grow is officially sponsored.

Why would I be paranoid???

Here is one article, just one and from on top of MY search I have done for YOU!

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Lincoln man whose exorbitant power bills led to police finding a marijuana-growing operation has been sentenced to two years of probation.

Jacob Brehm was sentenced Thursday for manufacturing marijuana. Brehm, who pleaded guilty, must participate in a substance abuse program as part of his probation.

Brehm was arrested in August 2009 after police found more than 100 pot plants in various stages of growth, plus grow lights and other items at his house. Police searched his home after his power bills showed a surge in electricity use, which police say came from the grow lamps.
