I love the bright orange sticker. I'm surprised they didn't print a frowny face on it.
Smart grid vulnerability could give hackers free electricity: A U.S. cyber security researcher will show how to break into so-called “smart meters,” enabling the user to modify the reported volume of services used or even avoid being charged altogether.
Does each smart meter have its own "signature"???...does it transmit its own serial number along with usage info?..
or does it jsut show
adress
customer name
usage info

Thought I'd bump this.We just got smart meters. When I asked the power company about EMF they said they don't use it and meters are read "through the lines we don't have all that fancy stuff". I wonder what that is supposed to mean?
Is anyone aware of timers that can be programmed at random times? I plan on running flip rooms 24 hours a day with randomly turning on and off ballasts while supplementing with flourescents. Would digital ballasts fire quicker and last longer with this method? 3K total
Reading meters through the lines means they aren't using radio signals.
Instead they are "pinging" the meters which then submit the requested signal through the electric line.
Forget the timer thing you're talking about.
It's cause stress to your plants. If not stress then @ least noticeably decreased yields.
I don't know if this tells you anything or not.
Some help to ease my nerves....
How long does it take to do the install of the meter?
5 minutes?
25?
