Hi all

im growing original haze x skunk #1 and 24 hrs after i placed 6 seeds inbetween wet paper towels the first of the seeds started to crack and 24 hours after that the first of the seedlings started to pop up. They are being grown in coco with ph adjusted water to 5.7





the following morning after the last pic was taken the plant had produced its first set of leaves and im using this point as Day 1 of veg and each pic represents a day of veg. The flash on the camera discolors the pics






day 5 of veg and i am now feeding the big seedlings on 1ml of canna A + B and the smaller ones are on .5ml/l and they are growing under a cfl




im going to veg them til the 6th node then switch the lights to 12/12 so i can sex them ...then put the lights back to 24/24 until they have matured before flowering them. They'll have to get topped to control the height.

a friend is also growing this strain and he is going to give me his females as well so i should have a good selection of mums to choose from. Obviously, im looking for a haze pheno

I've also got his Old School Thai Haze x Skunk #1 but im not germing those seeds until the ohxsk#1 go into flower because i am limited in space.

I suggest you do not force flower. Force flowering can be stressful and as such leads to the rise of more males. Your plants will tell you when they are ready to flower by showing you their preflowers. This typically doesn't take that long, usually 4-6 weeks. Also, how many CFL's are you using and what is the wattage and spectrum of them? Also, a pure haze or just a haze pheno can take a long time to flower, upwards from 9-13 weeks. You may already know this but it's just some info that other growers may be able to take. Hope your grow is successful.

cheers for the concern but if any show lady boy traits i'll just bin them...the ohxsk#1 should be ok

The Thai Hazes will go 130 days+ i wont force flower them cos thais are known for hermie traits.

they are being vegged about an inch under a 200 watt blue cfl and here is a couple of pics of the ohxsk#1 at day 8

they're meant to look like that they're sativas lol. In 2 weeks times these things will be HUGE....they love to stretch their legs. You get smaller phenos with real close internode spacing but any that look like that will be binned immediately cos im not after skunk phenos

i started to germ the Thai Hazes last night and 2 beans had cracked when i got up this morning so they'll get put in coco when i get in from work tonight. These will be even stretchier when they get going hehehe

How much height have you got? Growing to the 6th node ( ) is not a good idea with OH in the cross unless you'Ve got some serious headroom.

Probably safest to top after the 2-3rd node and sticking the cut in a glass of water under the 24hr light to show sex, and leaving the main plant to veg. Should show in a week and then you know which ones to transplant in bigger pots and stick under 24

Nice plant Farmer John. What strain was it and how was the smoke?

@h g- the grow is looking good so far. I suggest you top or do some sort of heigth management soon or your headroom will run out fast during flowering.

ive been thinking about what you both said and ive decided not to force flower them to determine sex due to stress and height issues so i'll top them soon, clone the cuttings, grow them to six inches then flower them, this will tell the sex and also how much that particular plant will stretch when i come to flower the main plants later on - cheers for the input fellas

well a quick update, 2 days ago i took the 4 remaning ohxsk#1 seeds that hadnt cracked out of the wet paper towels and put them in coco as a last ditch attempt to get them to germ as it had been nearly 2 weeks, and this evening when i checked on them i saw this



real glad i didnt throw them out

another thai haze seed cracked this morning (thats 3 now) and that was put in coco. None of them have popped up yet

Nice luck with those seeds. How long has the Thai been in the soil and how deep did you plant the beans? How are your other babies doing? Hope they are doing well. As for stretching, a pure original haze can at least triple in size during flowering.

sorry about the delay in response, i was hoping the seeds would have popped up shortly after your post and i could have posted a pic with an update but they have only just come up.

The Thai hazes were germed 5 days ago and these 2 were put in coco 4 days ago. i placed them about 3/4cm (1/2 inch) below the surface. I think i should have put them lower down cos they seedlings look premature.



another seedling is starting to pop its head up but still has its shell on and a 4th seed thats still inbetween wet paper tissues cracked tonight so thats going into coco shortly.

im getting there anyway

Hi Farmer John...nice bud porn covered in thrichs...is that your original or old school haze?

ive had a 70% germ rate for both strains...im happy with that. I killed 1 Old School Thai haze going in my grow room drunk trying to take the shell off...i wasnt happy with that lol

everythings going ok. i switched the lights on the hazeskunks to 12/12 last week to force sex when they was about 6 inches with the intention of switching back to 24/0 once they had shown their sex

after about 5 days they was over 2ft tall and still strectching and not showing sex, i was running out of space so i had to put them back into veg and topped them a few days later. The pic below is after it reverted to veg prior to topping

the thaihazes are only a couple of weeks old. Only prob i got is this and its only on this one plant. I dont know oif its nute burn or nute def cos i had just icreased the feed from 0.5ml/l to 1ml/l lol

i'll post pics of them all mid week
