Those pictures make me want to go roll a joint. Nice work on the soil and genetics some serious sweetness for certain.

Looks great for 37 days. I was afraid of coming in here because of what was posted about tea bagging the dog but I am glad I did.

I was just thinking that I must've handled the whole disruptive classroom thing fairly well - just show 'em a shiny object, eh?

Thanks! The soil really helps me as a backup and in general, as I could probably get by with just straight water, .. I do still feed with ACTs & top dressings, though. The thought process is to fortify the soil enough that if you're missing anything in the feedings (or even missing the feedings), then there's plenty of goodness in the soil itself -- so it's not too terrible a beat that was missed. :shucks:

Sheesh! Been busier'n a one-legged man at an ass-kickin' contest.

I've been working on a humidifier solution, ideally to be able to increase RH up to 45% +/- during flower, which would ideally give me hulked up RH in the veg..

Photos of that to come, .. Or not? We'll see how it works out. Could be that I've gotten us all dressed up with no place to go.

Anyway. Just checked. The last Nightmare Diesel from last round (the one that yellowed, slowed down, then took off again) is on day 97 today. Heh.

Thanks for stopping in, all, .. ! Hopefully I'll get my ass back here with some shiny objects, errrr, pictures.. :)

You know how we like our shiney objects , and occasionally pictures are good too :woohoo:. Everythang is looking gravy bro :smokey:

Thanks _D! Believe it or not, there are a handful of pictures on the camera yet, .. Been too busy (read: lazy) to do anything with 'em..

Is she going amber yet? 14 weeks and counting!

Good question - to be honest, I find little value in those f*cking loupes. I can't tell for sheeyit with those damned things. User-error, I'm sure, but every f*cking time I try, I remind myself, "Why do I waste my time with this? I feel blind as shit." I generally go on calyx swollen-ness, pistils..

Sooooo, the projects.

I've been cookin' up a humidity solution. The plan is to put a pond fogger in the veg tent (which exhausts into the flower cab), .. Jack the humidity up to +/- 45% in the flower cab, and the resulting RH in the veg tent would be swell too.

I got it all fired up last night. A five-disc pond fogger (capable of 1250ml/hr output, so claims the seller) inside a constantly fed/draining rez with about 20 gallons of water..

Fired it up overnight, let it run, .. Checked it this AM - and the RH in the flower cab had increased from 27% to 30%. A whole THREE percent. :wallbash:

In that time, I'd say it went through about 4-6 gallons of water, if not more.

I've left it running all day while I do the working stiff thing, but I don't have terribly high hopes that the RH in the flower cab will rise to a level at which I'll feel the expense and effort was worthwhile..

Sh*t to consider:

- Veg tent (35 cu ft) exhausts into flower cab with a 170CFM fan, dialed back to no more'n 1/2 speed.

- Flower cab (78 cu ft) is equipped with a 400 CFM fan at full bore, to exhaust.

So part of me wonders if the rate at which the air is leaving the flower cab is making it damn near impossible for the RH to build up in the flower cab.

..am I fighting a losing battle? :tumbleweed:

Wowsers.

Just split to run back home and check on things. Lights went out this AM, so I wanted to see how the fogger could keep things with the lights off.

Lights have been out now for about 7 hours. Just checked RH in the flower cab, and it's at 50%.

Opened up the veg tent, and it was like a frickin' rainforest. Condensation on the ceiling, moisture on the leaves, ..

Actually had to unplug the whole deal and leave it off for now. (Didn't pick a humidistat yet - don't plan on it until I know I can actually get a spike in RH during lights-on)

Still not terribly optimistic for lights-on RH, and I'm really not interested in high RH at night, low RH during the day..

But, man-o-man was that veg tent humid.

Stab 2.0

Stab 2.0

Boy o boy it does do wonders to read yourself type out aloud sometimes.

Put the veg tent exhaust on full bore, dialed down the flower cab to about ~35%.

Before I did that, RH in the flower cab was 33%.

10 minutes later, 36%. Fingers crossed.

At some point, though, I need to be wary of exactly how low I'm dialing the exhaust - especially adding humidity..

Stay tuned.. ..:tumbleweed:

crickets

Edit: Lights are still off at the time of this test..

This is ooooonly a test..

Ugh. These last 2 posts... you got some tricky dickin going on.

You know what would make this extra super-duper impressive? Do it all while riding the shoulders of a blind-folded Kodiak bear jumping beds of flaming coals on a teeny-tiny unicycle.

Good show - even without the bear. ;)

wildgrow, very pleased to have your company! The Kodiak bear bit was last week - right before the testicle-dip in Avid.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it man. Embrace the dryness, you won't ever have to worry about bud rot.

wdi - ha! "embrace the dryness" is right. I was doing some drunken online shopping before the holidays, found a cheapish "9-gal" humidifier, pulled the trigger, .. It did the job kind of nicely, though horribly inconvenient.. So it went back, but it got me itchin'..

Anyway - standby for photos of the effort, .. And then photos of some sexiness, at least.. FFS.. :dunno:

Project: Humidification

Project: Humidification

* Quick note - all credit to the contraption/application and its parts to bobblehead. All "ahh shit" or "looks like this won't work" goes to me. Or the universe. But definitely not him.

A pond fogger is used to create the vapor itself. Like this:

fyVMtP8A

This works best (creates the most vapor) when the top of the disc is about 1.5" below the surface of the water.

The whole contraption:

^^ You can see the hole for the drain in the back of the clear bin. It wound up being fitted with a 1" bulkhead that you'd use on a flood table.

Up-close -- figured if it's gonna hold water for a fogger, why not hold water for my blumats?

Crankin' with the fog:

Bigger picture:

This tent exhausts into the flower cab. The idea was to set the humidistat in the flower cab to about 45% - ideal for post-stretch flower.

I figured that if the flower cab could get up to 45%, it'd likely be even higher in the veg tent (where the humidifier is set). I wasn't concerned exactly how much higher - figured even 75% or so would be right on, as long as it didn't mean condensation.

Anyway. After some minor fan tinkering (only one controller between two fans, so something has to be on full-bore), still nothin' in terms of humidity increase in the flower cab. And that's with the veg exhaust on full bore, and the flower exhaust dialed back to about 1/3...

I don't want to hate but are you not killing space that you could be using for broads? I keep waiting for DHF to come in here talkin' about dialage and baby shit. No hate your way either DHF if/when you see this.

Keep gettin' it silver

*edit* Nice job on the diesel, finally chopped that sucker down? 97 days?! holy sweet fuck

Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't, .. y'know?

I was hoping to create a mega humidification source, capable of serving both rooms to the exact point I'd like..

For less'n a couple hundred bucks, it's worth it to be able to jack the humidity during veg & stretch..

But, to your point, real estate ain't easy to come by 'round here. If nothing else, I think I'll be able to repurpose the whole rig (sans the fogger itself) to a blumat setup for the veg tent. That's one of those projects that's been on my mind forever (a year +), so to have it done somehow, some way, finally.. That'd be nice.

:tumbleweed:

Edit: For shore on the 97 days :yoinks: She went wonky on me earlyish on though, so the 97 days ain't exactly representative. Usually I take her to about 82-84. And she's worth every day.

Duuuuuddeeeee, pond fogger aero cloner! Could that shit work?! I was pretty happy with a ghetto cloner I threw together with some airstones and a rubbermaid storage bin. If nothing else you could give that a chance.
