???? You said 300 ppms... you got to be measuring the ppms with your nutrients cause NO tap water comes out at 1200 or 2000 ppms.....
Hard water makes it hard for them to absorb the nutrients out of the water.... they make nutrients for hard water; either you switch over to soil, or you can get RO water... filtered water or distilled..... you pick those you will have to get cal mag supplement, because the calcium and magnesium is removed.. hence "soft water"
hi gram, the hard water is not ideal, but it won't stop you growing ok - you can get hard water formulation nutes. Your problem is salt build up in the coco, you just need to flush out the medium, then when you water make sure enough run-off from the pots (15-20%?) that way the nutrients in the coco are refreshed to whatever ph/ec you are using.
