hey, this is an awesome thread.

im flowering with CFLs right now (5 warm 42w and a 26w daylight)

my question to you pro floro growers is what do you use? mainly what color temp, I've seen a bunch 40w tubes...cool white (4100k) warm white (2700k) or daylght (6500k)??? or a combo of all?? please point me in the right direction

many thanks

i try to veg with 23w daylights, but i have used a single 2700k 42w to veg four plants. it took a while, but they were decent. right now i am running 3 23w daylights off a 3 socket vanity light. i want to get more, but i am getting a hydrohut mini to flower in. combos don't hurt because mixed spectrum is better in some cases than just one specific spectrum. i don't use the cool whites ones at all, just the warm and daylight. what are you flowering?

During vegging a blue spectrum is vital and during flowering a red spectrum is essential. This is why many commercial growers prefer using MH(strong in blue) to veg and HPS(strong in red) to flower. Usually on the packaging of floros you will see a temp rating which will indicate which spectrum the bulb will provide. Below is a chart to help you determine the temp rating and color spectrum it provides. Happy growing.
