should the neg rep button be brought back?

hey damnuglydoge, threads seem to have been closed or wiped clean more or less just as often since the option has been removed ! i also wonder if it had reduced the number of members having to get new accounts ?
wherever there is good there is bad also ! i think it would be impossible to separate the two,or even if it would be healthy?

Our community is no different and I think the TOU/rules of the land are well thought out and held closely by the moderators...

But, can't just give a quick thumbs down, so I think, well,,, maybe I'll just have to neg rep someone to be able to express an opinion to that person. But I don't like to neg rep someone just for a couple disagreeable posts.

But apparently you can no longer even give neg rep.

As for the peeps who think folks who give a thumbs down are 'hiding' because the site didn't show who did the down thumbing... That's not my fault. I would not mind anyone knowing that.

The idea of using the "unhelpful" input to help grade the quality of the post only works if the person doing the grading actually has a fucking clue about what they are evaluating, and there is NO way to determine that if it is anonymous.

It's far too attractive to either trolls or people that are incapable of seeing why anyone could possibly want to do something differently than they themselves would do it.

You can still neg rep someone, you just have to do it through the scales. Of course not everybody has their rep turned on.

^^ You cant if you are not a senior member. So you need 1000 posts i think . I've been here for a while, we used to be able to give both + and - rep, sucks that you get graded by your post count only as i dont post much

Make the not helpful rating "public" just like the "helpful" rating so you can see who disagrees with your post , and it`s all good in my book......

I bitched about the not helpful rating button for a couple yrs due to being anonymous with trolls and asshats playing games for the most part , cuz as stated above if yas don`t have the balls to stand behind your rating , then don`t do it....simple....

When it was done away with , I didn`t realize it takes 1000 posts before you can "Neg Rep" a post on the left side of the page in the scales icon , and that was 1 of my leading arguments that neg rep was on the other side of the page , and why did we need 2 separate neg rep ratings , especially 1 that`s anonymous and chicken shit...anyways....

I suppose if SOME folks want the not helpful rating back , in all fairness it should be made public and show the member`s name out beside it JUST like if they pushed the helpful rating button , if in fact it makes you really feel that strongly toward said post to where you don`t think it`s helpful , then stand behind your button pushing....
