You can still give all the neg rep you want. Now, you just have to have the BALLS to put your name behind your negative rep. and can't do it anonymously. Have the stones to stand behind your criticism, not hide behind an anonymous button. If you feel compelled to pass neg rep, man up and give a reason. What's the point if the person doesn't know why you disagree?

Unhelpful rating is more for public viewing to sort thru troll posts, bad attitudes and and bad info with one quick glance.

Neg reps are stupid because people often take them far too seriously then you get a PM wanting to "talk about it". They are also not publicly viewable and do nothing to deter bad info.

The Unhelpful rep morphed into a game with some.
There are members that took a Neg to heart and the trolls would

I believe we all have individual attitudes (a good thing). I enjoy IC because I can observe and make my own judgement to myself or, when necessary, out loud.

I believe that adding a disapprove button would only promote antagonism.

This world is not perfect but this forum is leading in example to fostering a safe place to socializing, sharing, and learning. This is hard to find, especially when we live in a world where the practice bringing most of us on here isn't universally accepted. I am, least to say, very proud to be able to openly take part in this institution.

Much respect and infinite thanks to the founders, contributors, and community that made/make this come true.
