does dimming effect the spectrum ? or does the spectrumremain the same , and only intensity is effected? and does it effect lifespan? i just have my mars unit with dimmer on 100 ,no more no less. with my gavita 1000w de unit it gives different spectrums at different stages , and found set at 100 % is ideal , and over riding , or dimming was not as good for me as just raising and lowering the unit
The spectrum is affected but I'm sure it's still good enough.

in the old dimmable digital ballasts , the dimming function would kill bulbs , and you needed a separate bulb for each setting to stop enhanced degradation of bulb . they sold them as one bulb that can be dimmed, which it did , but it also killed off the bulb pronto if it did not match the setting
