That's freakin' awesome! Are you doing 1 plant per 1kw? How long do you find you veg for under the T5s?

42 days....these buds are about the diameter of a paper towel tube and appox. 4 inches long. They will dry to about 8 grams.

I run 600's (I have no love for 1k's) but the lighting of the room in the pics is 64w/sq ft about 90% hps 10% (11k kelvin) t5"s for blue fill.

Veg time for me depends on the room size/plant count. The room in the pics is kind of maxing out the size of shipwreck (ending up about 3ft x 3ft) so it takes a little longer, but in that room I can usually take cuttings for the next run right at the time I turn back and not have more than a couple days of down time from 12/12. With 1 1/2wks for rooting and a few days transition time for the new cuts that would make it about 4wks veg. At a higher plant count I could probably shave off nearly a couple weeks.

The yield in that space could be better with lots of other strains but the reality is that I can get pretty close to 1g/w in less than six weeks which is the same as 1.5 g/w in nine wks. The only drawback for me is that I typically design low plant count large rooms. The SW is not ideal for this since it max's out around 1 elb per plant therefore it cant really be my staple strain as much as I wish it could.

Another thing to know... it is particularly sensitive to blue spectrum in flower and will nearly double its resin production if the blue/red (11k-k/hps) ratio goes over 25/75 but it comes with a dramatic converse loss in yield.

That's interesting. The mother plant I flowered last time was under it's own MH and was so crystal covered, I actually thought it was a different plant but the bud size and density was way less. What other strains are you running? I have a 707 Headband, Fire OG, Obama (but I was told it's not Obama Kush, something from PDX...supposedly Mendo Purps x Bubba Kush...who knows, heh),OG Kush,Blue Widow,AK47,Blue City Diesel. I have yet to really run through any of these accept with some highly stressed mothers that I don't feel are giving me accurate assessments. Though the AK47 has shown some hermie traits, so sadly...she will be cut...too fluffy as well. The OG Fire is small buds, which I hate trimming. The Blue Widow is fast and chunky but not that remarkable. The Obama reeks of fuel and turns purple. Looking forward to the 707 the most.

Also, how do you go about bending her without using tie downs or stakes or snapping the tops?

This strain is very pliable if it isnt vegged under too much light. HID light in veg will deff cause it to be more squat and thick branched which will need to be bent incrementally from earlier on, but under low light it will lay down pretty easily. You just need to take your time on each bend and wait for it to relax.

Yeah, it would be very difficult to list the strains I have my hands in, kind of a long list, plus a lot of it is either unnamed or uncirculated yet. I/we dont really run modern polly-hybrids, which is not to say we dont run test groups of the "latest and greatest" regularly. We just find that well worked pure bred oldschool lines are far more impressive and consistent when looking at the big picture.

Of the real cut....highly doubtful, and if it was in a club I would doubt its authenticity. Not to say its not possible, it has been around for over a decade but I don't believe that it has reached the "commercial cloner" circles. Its from Eugene and even here its hard to come by.

Actually come to think of it I was aware of it being in a club or two in San Diego a little over a year ago but I really cant remember which ones and I'm fairly sure that was a pretty short lived affair.
Best of luck finding her... if you find a cut it will be pretty easy to verify shes pretty distinct.

i used to get flowers consistantly for bout ten years from my partner this was probably the best herb ive had to date and everyone who smoked her agreed it was coming from up north here in cali it had a few personal alias but is a trainwreck/ affie hybrid and after reading up im 99% sure Shipwreck is this elusive strain i seen it listed on harborsides sanjose clone menu but this was in june im gonna keep trying to get this one... thanks for the info

Harborside and purpleheart both currently have legit shipwreck meds however their cuts are not from the same source and I am resonably sure that if they have cuts they are not the original SW, but still worth trying out since it would be quickly apparent.

Yeah, mine came from Eugene. The guy told me it was his absolute favorite strain and that it smelled or starburst....;)

What are some of your favs? I worked with Pez from up north for many years. And a Purple Kush that turned black, yielded very little but was like an opiate.

Its pretty hard to pick favs but there are a couple of stand outs. Some crosses of the late 80's pineapple (totally different genetic than todays pineapple), some (pollyanna/NL) IBL crosses, P-91, but if forced to choose a fav genetic to work with I'd probably have to say my cali-o/skunk1 lines. When I say skunk1 or pollyanna you have to know that I have lines that have been worked for many many years into several distinctly different plants, ie.. I could show you two different sk1 IBL's that came from the same orig parents but were filial bred in two very different directions (over a long time period) and they appear to be two very different strains, yet they are both true sk1 IBL's. Calculated selection from massive breeding pools is more powerful than most people realize. I guess the point that I am making is that if I say sk1x??? I don't mean sk1 that you can order from Dam I mean unique, highly selected versions.

We are taking some down now, at 7 wks. and man do I love this strain. Consistently getting 80-90 gram plants, 30" tall vs some of my AK47 that are 3.5ft tall and only getting 40grams. Also, so easy to trim and so smelly. It's fruity but with a little bit of funk in there, almost like body odor or musk.

Hey Merkaba nice trim work those buds look super long. Interesting thread Im really diggging getting another cool history lesson from the land of weed.. I mean the west coast/ thx

King swing-compared to those top budz that 2nd bud looks pretty small is that one of the buds from lower down on the tree you have in the first picture? Its amazingly trimmed in my personal opinion, great work growperson. That is from indoor right, or is the bud from some other project you have working on. (sorry for interruption)
