Sensi Seeds' recent quality

ive only grown one strain from sensi seeds. i was very happy with their g13xhashplant when i grew it in 2004. im not sure when the new ownership started.
the g13xhashplant had a decent yield and the smoke was very potent. i smoked a bong with a friend of a friend and we got so wasted he drove through a red light and said his whole body felt numb. a week later i heard he was mad at me because i fucked him up too bad. i think it was the most stoned he had ever been. the only negative thing is the price i think g13xhp is their most expensive strain.

Is it the 40-seed "Indoor Mix" you speak of? If so, I believe those have been known to have bad germination rates; the story is that pack is created from some older stock of the regular line-up that hasn't sold. Which makes sense, and which is why it's so cheap. But still fuc't up nonetheless.

I bought some black domina from Sensi, and im getting piss poor germ rates.. ive done it time and time again and had close to 100% germ, then I buy his $10 a bean seeds, and its below 50% germ, and of the few that did germ, the damn seedlings randomly get stunted and stop growing. Ridiculous.. the only tiny + to this is that he gives 15 seeds instead of 10, so you have more room to deal with his fuck ups. Never again will I buy a Sensi product

Really? I wish I had known, I searched for BD experiences and found absolutely nothing, at the time I was debating sensi star vs. BD, had I known this was commonplace I would certainly have gone with SS, which also happens to be significantly cheaper, although I heard things about SS too. Threads like this are great because theyll keep others from wasting money in the future, glad to help 
Ah, yes. I've since also tried searching for those discussions Re: Sensi's poor quality / reputation, but haven't been able to find it with the search capabilities available. Too much stuff to wade through. I just recall seeing the discussion, while lurking at one point...

Once the seeds germinate they wont get "randomly stunted" unless the environment is not right.
I have grown 5 packs from sensi and no joke so far and I have never had a seed NOT pop. Thats 16 x 5 = 80 seeds with not one seed failing to germinate. All within the last few years. The last was Durban which was about 1 year ago.
Sensi Seeds is a good company, dont be afraid to order from them.

Ezra, I was thinking that possibly in the back of my head, and would have questioned his germination techniques and whatnot had it not been for discussions from members with at least several hundred posts (who seemed like they really knew what they were talking about).
At the time I wasn't too interested in shopping for high-priced genetics (and quite a bit of Sensi's line is "up there", IMO), so I didn't care that much. Just took note of it, and that's all. But now that I'm in the market for some great genetics for mothers that I plan on keeping for the next decade, it reminded me...
I understood Sensi to be a great, almost legendary, seed company... one of the pioneers dating back to way way back... correct? Which is why I'm still interested in doing research about their alleged recent (being last couple of years) reputation, or a lack thereof. I recall the story was that the quality went downhill ever since new ownership, but I can't find anything about ownership change right now....

A buddy of mine brought back a pack of Sensi seeds Afghani # 1 from the 'dam last year and passed them on to me. I got a 50% germ. rte out of the ten seeds. Out of the five that popped two were male and of the three fems I had, two were of a very sativa pheno with a lousy high and low yield. The other was a classic Afghani/Indica with nice bud structure and good yield and a killer couch lock buzz. ]
Would I do it again? No. Would I buy Sensi products? Hmm, not sure, but I wouldnt want to pay for Afghani/Indica type seeds annd get sativa phenos.

I dont really know the full story, I remember reading a few threads about it too. It is possible they did have some issues, really couldnt say for sure there was never a problem, but I just know I have allways had 100% germ rates from their stock. Interesting fact - sensi seeds recently changed their packaging and now the beans are normally packed in those bubble type foil sealed packs.
Looking at their website recently, I assumed that's how they've always been packed -- but apparently not! How were they packed before?
The new packaging sure does look pretty, regardless. But if I had it my way, it'd be Serious' way: those clear, plastic, crush-resistent vials.

Im currently growing 3 other strains side by side, SAME conditions, SAME germ method, 4/5 seeds for one, 9/10 and 8/10 for the other two. BD on the other hand, so far ive used 8 seeds, 4 failed right off the bat, 2 of the ones that survived then got stunted for no apparent reason. Dont even bother with the game of 'blame the grower for the breeders fuckup'. Ill bet I could order a freakin pack of nirvana and get better germ rates than what im getting from sensi

Clowntown - yea I agree, the serious seeds packaging is the best. The old Sensi packs were basically just playing card sized clear plastic sleeves with a Sensi Seedbank logo printed on a peice of card inside the sleeve. The seeds were just loose in the bottom of the sleeve.
SmokeRings - you are entitled to your opinions and I certainly dont wish to offend you and diss your "methods". I suggest you stick to your Nirvana beans from now on and I am sure you will be much happier with the results.

I had the indoor mix a couple of years ago. It was pure crap..
Germ rates sucked, lots of mutants and it was really hard to get a female outta those.
But my pal grew out sensi super skunk this spring and it was good. Good germ and he had nice females too. So i quess u never know
