great to hear you are ok!
please let us know of any information gathered about the bad tire.
i was scared about that happening for about 11 years, its been 3-4 since i got over it, thanks to you, i realize i wasn't paranoid, and it can actually happen. i never liked that my face was so close to something that could explode.
i also remember reading fear and loathing in las vegas(or another H.S.T book) where he filled the tires to something like 20 psi OVER what was called, and the attendant refused to do it for fear of that happening.

thanks again for all the support, I really feel fortunate considering the amount of damage rendered to the coach.

it was a HERCULES tire Walt, they were made in China which usually isn't a bad thing in the truck tire business.

I was naturally looking for 'weather checking' as I inflated the tire and saw the smallest amount of light checking which is something I felt OK with. I've spent many yrs driving truck and checking rubber but now have an all new appreciation for it.

OMG, is your camper ok? JK! Glad to see everthing is going to be ok. I find it hard to believe that a tire is suppose to be 100psi. That is some major force when that explodes. The 10 ton dump truck my company owns, the tires only get 75 psi. 100psi is just nuts.

Wow dude, very lucky indeed. I saw a blowout of a big rig tire on the highway once and it busted the window out the car driving next to it... crazy power released when one of those things goes. Glad to hear you are alright.

best wishes to you. speedy recovery. i used to work in a gas station. whenever we aired up truck tires, we had a device which locked on the valve stem with a 10 ft hose on it. we stood well away. good luck to you.
