I have heard that too but I had to go out of town for awhile anyways so it didn't hurt to pull the fish out since I wouldn't be able to feed them. There were still plenty of nitrates left in the water when I got back and when I chopped.probably dont need to flush with aquaponics . you dont need to flush vegetables grown in aquaponics.
I have two 3000k's that I will run in my micro ngb box. I picked up a couple of those alpine 11 plus coolers and will be mounting them both to a chunk of 1/4" aluminum plate. This plate will go on top of my box and keep the fans and most of the heat on the outside. This will allow more headroom and less ventilation which are two problem areas I have been fighting.
I haven't picked out my drivers yet but I would like to find a couple meanwells that can be run at 1400-1900ma and dimmable. Money and an upcoming trip will keep me from starting before late September unfortunately. Check out my thread in my sig for a better idea of my work space.
Nice, sounds like a good plan.
When I bought my first COB I was going to build a little test cab for it and cut a hole in the top for the COB to stick in through and the heatsink/fan remain on the outside of the cab but never build a test cab just went for it and bout some more stuff to convert the tent over to LED.
Should keep a good portion of the heat outside of the cab, the COBs do put out some heat from the light emitting side as well but the heatsink side will shed heat outside the cab well. Having the heatsink outside the cab will have lower temps of air being blown through the heatsink so it will run the COB cooler easier too resulting in better efficiency and longevity with better lumen maintenance.
Ill have to look a bit, if you are only running 2 COBs you might be able to get a single Meanwell that is 1400-1900mA max and dimmable to run both COBs off one driver.
Lets bring this conversation over here.
I think I want to go with separate drivers so I can adjust then independently. I plan on running one plant per cob and staggered 4 weeks apart. That will leave uneven canopies and a need to tailor the lights individually. I could then keep a mother and a vegging plant in the small section.
I would like to possibly main-line the plants for 4 main colas in 3 gallon bags. This might be a tight squeeze and the first run will let me know if its possible.
