Seedlings with Trichomes

M

mugenbao

I had that on the bagseed I'm currently growing. As soon as I saw the OP photo I recognized it. I tried to find pics, but I didn't have a great camera at the time so the pics don't show it as strongly as well as a jeweler's loupe would.

Don't know what it means, if anything, but it sure is interesting :)

They are salts. These mean you have a good soil. At seedling stage, this can happen if your soil is rich(plant balances the nutes this way i guess). But this has nothing to do with trichomes. I've seen many seedlings like this. Some came out potent, some weak.

I have this same problem. Not that I mind.
No offense but mine looks better, could be the camera angle.
How was the outcome? Was it potent? Resiney? :tiphat:

Salts!? I think not, I'm not even in soil yet. And all of my water is distilled. I was thinking water build ups but I think they're baby trichs.

Pheew! Currently caring for seedlings in rockwool
When all my seedlings had this it threw me off. I thought I had some kind of fungus. All the seedlings that sprouted have this trait from a pack of triple platinum from so cal seed Comp.

Hi All,

I have witnessed this on several occasion with land-races grown outdoors.
In my humble opinion..It just happens, it doesn't guarantee a good plant/pheno.

if any advantage or benefit, i think its a sign the plant is in an optimal environment, Ive also picked up that outdoor plants that do this usually end up being the biggest yielders, but with that said on that specific grow imo, it wasnt the strongest of puffs.

......bit off topic, but its sort of like the purling of calyxes! Ive seen calyxes turn purple on A LOT of plants grown from dirt weed seeds and land races and hybrid seeds alike.

It just happens, due to condition, effected by the environment and so forth. I don't think a plant showing purple calyxes means its a good puff or its family with a specific strain. Ive experienced that with cannabis in general, its something that could be expected.

my observation,

Peace

I had several ChocoTonic S1 seedlings showing trichomes from a couple of days after they sprout.
They ended to be the phenos with more resin, fast and low producer with a greater amount of trichomes compared to other phenos.

Got something

Got something

Hi,

Check this out...

007_125329.jpg

Note: The sugary substance on the bottom side of the leaf on the first photo
007_125403.jpg

She is 7 days old(+ 36 hours gemination)
Strain: Durban Poison x Northern Lights x Durban Poison
Seeds: Feminized
Photo period: 24/0
Temp: 29-31*C
Humidity:40-60%

First time I've seen this, I'm really excited for this plant.
She grows very fast, I'm seeing changes by the hour.
And she looks like this is going to be a good plant.

If she continues to grow as she does now, I'm crossing her with a good strain of Amnesia Haze(keeping the sativa dominance) and flower herself to get some seeds for storage.

What you guys think?

I have seen it over the years...never labeled and seen if they ended up special..and thinking on it only on lineswith some indiga in them,, the sats might have some too but maybe less and smaller so I don't notice..maybe if I just pop 10 seeds of some shit ..I tend to do 30 minimum and usually more like 72 ....yeehaw...I look more for growth rate, structure and end product

No Reason thatLooks like spider mite eggs to me

Well...do you have ever had mites? Can you imagine what look likes a seedling infested of mites (because eggs don't fly, they just sit there after beind deposed...)?

That's not the case...and it's pretty clear to a grower's eye.

However, I saw many other seedlings with thrics in the CT S1 offspring. It's pretty normal. Some with more, some with less. The ones with many thrics usually goes in the trash bin because they're not stable phenos. I mean they usually suffer heat problems, hermies, poor yield and very short flowering (around 45 days).

That's just what I observed in a single strain.

Its too bad you cant come here anymore and throw in your two cents without people becoming defensive then trying to somehow attack a persons growing skills.Yes I have had spider mites living in Fla and no I haven't seen a seedling with trichs. The eggs look exactly like that to me.You could have had them in a room with larger plants and became infected that way.Sorry I don't have a "growers eye" some mods need to thicken their skin you have "no reason" to come off as an asshole to me

You're taking it personally and it isn't man.

You're correct, they look like eggs, but they aren't. Don't want to explain why here, I just said a grower with experience can notice it in a few seconds, that's all.
