Seedling worries

Those plants don't look bad. They look pretty healthy.

Get some general hydroponic nutes, mix as indicated....I think they'll be fine. Remember, keep it simple, and keep the pests away. I never measure PH , look at my gallery.

There are no stupid questions, and people new to growing MJ (noobs) tend to kill the plants with too much attention and love.
-Use good fertz (not Miraclegrow)
-Don't overwater
-Keep good air circulation
-Keep temps between 70 to 80...90 at most if unavoidable
-watch out for pests..ie fungus gnats
-The plant will teach you what makes it thrive.

Good luck.

Watson - thanks for stopping by, I know what you mean about killing the plants with love - its too easy to worry that your doing something wrong lol!! The pics i've posted dont show the colour very well, they look a little bit worse in person (they must be really photogenic haha). I'll be keeping a close eye out for pests, i thought i saw one fungus gnat flying around the other day and squashed his ass - no more yet tho so maybe it wasn't one?!?!
As far as ph is concerned i've got no buffers in the soil and the water from my filter is about ph 8!!! I don't think i could get away with giving them that (and why bother when it's so easy to adjust)!!

Nice gallery dude, gotta love those sour strains!!! I had sour bubble clones 4 weeks from finishing when I got rumbled by my old landlord, needless to say they got the chop *painful*. That'll teach me for not using a carbon filter :bat: (lovely smell tho, lol)

Sprout - I couldn't find ANY stump remover containing pottasium nitrate!!! Every stump remover I saw contained ammonium sulphamate (i think) as the active ingredient!! I'll keep my eye's open tho, im sure i'll find some somewhere. I keep finding that the EC of my feed water is high (1.4 - 1.6) after adding ph down - I have to add about 0.75ml ph down to 5 litres of water, would this be too much?? my only other option is mixing the acidic rainwater from my water butt with the alkaline water from my filter, thus getting rid of the need for ph down. Good/bad idea????

Thanks a lot

It looks like the formulex mag:cal:K is 1:4.5:6.7 (ppm 12-55-81)
So i guess I need to add 15ppm mag, and 29 ppm K to achieve 1:2:4 ratio??
Did you use the calculator to get those numbers? Did you enter net weight of the bottle and total ml, etc...? Is that for 100 ppm n? Does the bottle state k as k20 or pure k? If pure k then you will have to multiply by 1.2 to change the k to k2o before entering it in the calc. If k2o then the calc changes to pure k for you.

Hey sprout - It doesn't state whether K is pure or not so I presume it's pure. The K after converting to k2o is now 97 ppm. The bottle says phosphorus (water soluble). Do I need to convert this to P2o5? if so what is the calculation???

The bottle i have is 500ml but it doesn't state the net weight so I entered 500 into both fields.

The calculator says it's 90ppm nitrogen. Do I need to experiment with dose into the calculator, to get 100ppm N, then work from these values?

Thanks

To change pure p to p2o5 to enter in the calc multiply by 2.32. Decide whether the % is k or k2o or p or p2o5 that they are stating on the bottle. If the k works out to be 97:55:12 k ca mg then all you would need to add is the 1/8 teaspoon epsom per gallon (3.8liters). You do not have to be perfect with this just close. If you do not have net weight, then leave it set to 1 and leave total ml set to 1. This is the default setting. Could be off by 20% doing it this way but still probably be ok. Enter 1 teaspoon 5ml into used per gallon. Find total ppm n for that. Say its 75 ppm n using a teaspoon. You want 100 ppm n. 100/75 x 5ml = 6.67 ml you would use.

edit: your p came out to 5. This will hardly grow a plant. So I am pretty sure you will have to do the coversion for both the p and k before entering it into the calc.

21 ml (4 teaspoons) per gallon (3.8 liters) = 99 ppm nitrogen. You would add the 1/8 teaspsoon of epsom salts per gallon along with it. 108:61:28 or about 4:2:1 :woohoo: Here is the calc results I got. Click on it to enlarge. Once larger put your cursor in the bottom right corner to make even bigger.

Wicked, thanks sprout.

No need for the stump remover then :woohoo:

I'll back soon with sum pics when they're lookin better :)

Thanks for all your help.............next stop: mixing my own ferts (this stuff is interesting!!)

Thanks again sprout

Hey all,

Ting's are looking A LOT better now :sasmokin:

The girlies have got over their initial hiccups and are growing a lot faster now,
loadsa respect to everyone, especially sproutco for helping me out.... anyways, on to the pics (3wks 4 days) :joint:

This one started out the best (it's the overwatered lookin one), but has been overtaken by a few of the others. It looks particularly dark green tho - even tho it's had one less feeding than the others??

These others have overtaken the first a lot now

This girl's laggin behind a little

Here's the lil party, lol

They've all been bent down towards the rims of the pots now with twist ties, cuz I wanna get a fair amont of budsites before I start training with the screen - they're from fem seed so I don't wanna have to try and untangle anything from the screen before they've shown their preflowers....Just in case!

Btw, does anyone know how much these babies are likely to stretch when they start flowering?? They're greenhouse WW and i've heard that they can strretch quite a lot - I was initially gonna flower them as soon as they reach the screen thinking that the stretch would fill the screen but lookin over some scrog grows in the forums it seems that most people have filled the screen about 50-75% before switching to 12/12. Which should I do considering I have 5 plants (if they do all turn out female), needing to fill 144 squares that are 1.5 x 1.5 inch each?

I really need advice from someone who's grown this strain but I cant find much when I search for some reason.... can anyone help me out and save me from my dilemma?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Thanks again

Are you adding that little bit of epsom salts along with the regular fert? Soon, you should bump up your feed to 150 ppm nitrogen instead of what we figured before 100 ppm nitrogen. That would be 1.5x what we figured before. Add a heaping 1/8 teaspoon epsom per gallon. Fert at every watering and provide maximum light. Glad things worked out. I like happy endings. :woohoo:

Sprout - yeah I added the epsom salts, they've only had that one feed since the problems cuz i'm still waiting for the pots to get nice and dry! I'm gonna try and get the hps a little closer but temps won't let me get it to the optimum distance! Hopefully as it gets colder outside i'll be able to get it near enough.

I like happy endings too :)

Thanks sprout

Hey, I was wondering how old they are now and maybe what they look like. I have a WWxCali-o cross that are almost 5wks. I just wanted to compare.

When I switched my WW to 12/12 they were 12-15" tall. They starting stretching BIG TIME. They settled down after the second or third week. I am chopping tonight @ 65 Day's. The tallest is 60"+ and the shortest is 48". They have flowered under 1000w HPS.
