My pleasure Sam and it's time for my weekly update which is going to be small and sweet this week starting with a group shot of the flowering tent and the smallest zamal/thai pheno of zamaldelica which now reeks of mango, roses and cream/yogurt with some fuelyness to her in the background. She's the best smelling plant I've ever grown and while her leaves aren't absolutely caked in frost checkout her flowers and stems. She's gonna be real special in a few months...

Lastly for this update is a half dried malawi bud I'm about to cob with the trichs about as big as I can possibly get them. I'm not happy with how blurry the trich pic is so I'm going to practice a bit to clean it up and I'm still happy to take requests if anyone has any while I've got everything out.

Love those tric shots!
Do you get much amber once it's cured? or do they stay mostly milky?

Using Tangwena's cob curing method they can go quite amber but otherwise they basically stay the same and just change hue as the bud cures. Normally I'd have given them an extra week or two because of that but I'm now hooked on the cob and am trying to avoid most of the sedative effects from having the trichs mature too much beforehand. I don't mind getting smashed from the cob but I like the cleaner/higher feeling you get from picking it a little early.

If you haven't already done so you should give cob curing a go. It looks and feels so wrong until you consume it for the first time and it kicks. Once you head over to the dark side though there's no going back.

This is all bb/thai x malawi cob.

Sorry that this update isn't up to the standard I've been putting up of late but some pretty major shit went down for me last night so I wasn't able to give the garden the time it needed to be photographed. I won't go into detail but realistically I should quit growing for a bit and use the downtime to move but I go out of my mind if I don't have a garden so I'm currently stuck weighing up my options. Either way it's not good but here's the pics I took last night anyway.

Goddamn some of those buds are hurting but there's no point in trying to hide it as you can't learn from mistakes by covering them up...Anyways that's it for now but I'll try to get some more pics over the next few days

Thanks for helping Lammy out Old Toker, you're a legend :tiphat:

Sorry for not being around of late. In short the ex has gone full drug fucked and I've ended up with our daughter full time so life's been hectic to say the least. In any case I've since harvested quite a few malawi, the fastest zamaldelica and all the ssh x malawi which I had to rush through and didn't get any pictures of. I'm currently cobbing it up bit by bit though so I'll get some more pictures as time goes on and I'll try to get back into the weekly updates too though it's likely going to have to be scaled back some.

Speaking of pics here's a bud (cured at back, front for comparison) from the fastest zamaldelica I loosely cob cured at 40c for 24 hours.

This is a Malawi cob that I made way too tightly. Outside and then inside pics and it's rock hard. It's like chewing on beef jerky

Just out of curiosity (and because I want to try it) how much are you guys eating? I know everyone has different needs/tolerance, but I'm interested in some min/max that I should start with. Thanks!:tiphat:

Thanks mate :)

I've tried breaking down the cobbing process to find out what makes it work and have come to the conclusion it's all about the sweat. Everything else like the compression, corn husks, etc. just aid the curing process so I've gone back to making loosely compressed bricks from buds that have been drying for nearly a week. I get them to the noob "it's dry enough to smoke" stage and pack them in a sandwich bag which I'm then gently pushing down on until it firms up a bit. My goal is to get most of the air out without literally bricking it like I did with the last round of cobs because they're a bastard to deal with when it comes to drying and cutting off a bit to chew. Anyways I flip the brick every 4 hours or so while I'm around and remember to do so and then after a day at 40c in the yogurt maker I break the brick up a little and let it dry out for another few days. At that point it's good to go but gets better over the next few months as it ages which can be altered slightly to your preference using humidity packs. I found that lower humidity gives a stonier feeling while higher keeps it cleaner though all of them had the same level of potency overall. Cooking time and temperature also play a huge role with changing the high but I've not experimented too much there other than going 18,24 and 36 hour cooking times at 40c. It gives a more intense feeling with the longer cooking times but burns me out faster too so I'm sticking to the 24 hour cooking time.

The best advice I could give you is to use your favourite buds as you won't be disappointed and only get what you put in. About the best way to describe it for me is you get all the stuff you'd otherwise exhale so regardless of which way you go about the cure use the biggest and best buds you've got and just know that later when you wish you cobbed the rest of your harvest that it'll work if you wet the buds first to make them sweat :tiphat:

Thanks mate and thank you again for introducing me to the proper way to cure and consume my weed. I felt like such a tard for it not clicking that people have only eaten cannabis for over 90% of it's recorded use but now that my eyes have been opened and I've gotten over being a sook about my buds looking different my world has drastically changed for the better.

You'll get to taste my cobs one day but I've got to find something spectacular first. I can't just give you a mediocre bud to chew on. It's got to be comparable to your golden tiger and panama cobs otherwise it's the opposite of showing off and hardly worth the effort. One day though a plant will prove itself and I'll make up a special cob just for you :tiphat:

0.4g-0.5g to get a really nice happy place kind of high
1-2g to get really, really, REALLY goddamn high.
3-5g and I get introspective terror that's inescapable until I sober up.
5g+ don't have the balls to risk it tbh
