Anyways to the op you can use coat hangers cut them in half bend one side 180 degrees and branch and train that way,,,,
Your doing a good job only thing i would suggest is possible little pruning near the soil area , to allowing better air movement .. We can only direct you buts its only going to be you that has to make it happen once flowers sets is she a stretcher , or not will also dictate where your going to place final screen height

hey BR, for sure there are many ways to do it well, its the doing it well that matters. im an old fuck too, i was growing like i do for years before i even found out it was called scrog. i also thought for years that it was batshit crazy to post grow pics online, then i found out about proxy servers etc.

as for training i do like a vegged plant with multiple strong, longish branches, and im happpy to top or bend a plant as i see fit to make it the right shape during veg - depending on timing, its habit and percieved vigor. some will branch out much easier than others, seed plants are harder to bush out than cuts i usually find.

but yeah i think whether its modular or regular, the more you can fill the screen immediately when you put the plant under it, the better the scrog will go. i try for about 9 or a dozen colas per square foot, with a decent mat of smaller buds at screen level.
i dont clear the growth under the screen, i let it die back naturally in the dim light and then the plant recycles the nutrients that way.

I didnt post there but I have grown both ways and agree with you entirely.....

The vertical folks tend to not get the fact that vertical has more area but ....


The problem is in vertical you have to grow in a a fashion where you can only have a single layer....


In a scrog the buds have depth..... which is impossible with vertical.....


IMO its the biggest hoax in growing.....

I'm torn on whether I should lower the screen or not. I'm going to give it some thought.

As for the wire.. I couldn't find any thick wire that wasn't expensive, and I heard the fishing line wire could cut your plants. In any case, I'm not certain how I'd tie the wire.

The string has been stretched taut enough that I'm confident it will work.

cool, i use a welded gardening fencing type mesg with a grid of about 2x4 inches. your spacing looks good, a small grid cuts down your options for training etc.

seriously after a few grows scrogging gets very instinctive and its a nice way getting up close and personal to your plants. the best way to learn is to do it and you'll get to know how the plants behave. running the same cuts a few times helps

You clearly have a good idea what you are doing.....

There was a mentor some time back who grew without a screen....

his intent was to get 8 or 10 main colas..... he did that by pulling the tallest growth down until the others caught up......

Your use of the screen accomplishes pretty much the same thing....


Thats why I made the comment about you could get rid of the screen and do lst instead.....


Your screen is to provide support and separation for those monster buds of yours.......

one last little thing.....


String or wire.....


I do string.... for a pretty simple reason.... by pulling the opening this way or that I can enlarge the opening with less bent stems.....


I did however use wire in my vertical screens.....

now collecting dust.....

Not true actually.... my tomatoes liked them....
