seeing how my phone is on all the time anyway I guess this doesn't apply to me. seeing how my freedom is dissapearing it unfortunetly does. I'm not going to lie cuz everything is pretty gravy now, but everything was super gravy pre 911, anyways don't speak freely on your phone, I wouldn't speak in code either but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, no sense in driving across town to tell someone one thing when you can be like like me crack that lobster claw player player

i love my phone. i use it for everything, not just emergencies. i've always thought of phones as easy to listen to. when i was a kid my dad had a police scanner and we'd get all kinds of crazy stuff from people on their cordless phones. i wonder if they could do the same with a cell.

While it could be debated if the government has the power to do this or not I'm sure they can. More importantly how strong are the mics in a cell phone. I know that if I take my phone just a few inches from my face the person on the other end can't hear me. So if you phone is in a jacket that is across a room would they even really be able to hear anything? While they could use this to gather some information I think the mics would have to be pretty strong to prevent them from placing bugs if they really want to get you. Better mics in phones would cost more for the companies producing the phone. While I am sure they love helping the government I doubt they would spend the extra $$$ to place better mics in their phone just so the government could listen to people. That would hurt their bottom line. I guess they could just past the cost on to us. Better safe then sorry I always remove my battery and never bring the thing anywhere that could cause I problem.

I was recently reading about how many of the printers that are made these days will leave little yellow dots that you wouldn't even notice so the government can track who printed something out. It is supposed to be there to stop people that try to print $$$. They can tell the type of printer, model, sales point, the date it was printed I believe. I know its a bit off topic just figured I would throw it out there. If I can find where I read this I'll post a link.

If you use an ink jet printer, the print head is in the cartridge. so I"m not sure how that would be possible. If you are money concious and have your cartridges refilled, again it would be impossible. Same with refilled toners. Since tonly a fraction of printers have built in print heads, I can't see this being feasible at all. The ink comes out of a one time disposible cartridge that you can buy anywhere. If you print alot, don't let the cartridge start to dry up (those will "skip" a little bit) and do regulr print head cleanings you should be fine.

The govt wouldnt waste time on something as simple to defeat as printing just with the black cartridge. They also wouldnt waste it thinking they were the only ones capable of seeing yellow dots. Then you might have a hard time tracking the people that paid for printers with cash, etc. Theres numerous cracks in that conspiracy theory.

It was convincing up to their disclaimer.

... Limitations of this information
A "no" simply means that we couldn't see yellow dots; it does not prove that there is no forensic watermarking present. (For example, the HP Color LaserJET 8500 series does not include any yellow tracking dots that we can see, but it may still include some kind of forensic marking, since the majority of other Color LaserJET models do. Other forensic marking techniques have been invented, and we do not yet know how to determine whether these techniques are used by a particular printer.)

A "yes" simply means that we (or another source, as noted) saw yellow dots that appeared anomalous to us. Until we decipher the marking schemes or receive other confirmation, this does not constitute proof that any particular kind of information is represented by these dots. In a very few cases, for example, they might be the result of a dithering technique, rather than a forensic mark, or they could be the result of a poorly calibrated printer. In most cases, we are confident that the arrangement of dots is intentional and is intended to track users.

They are recording everything you do anyway. Everything they pick up is recorded, sorted, stored, and dealt with. They currently pick up just about every type of communications in the US including phone calls, radio transmissions, atm cameras and cctv's, all internet traffic/e-mails, etc. etc.

See about project Echelon, Project TIPS, TIA, Matrix, and much much more. http://www.infowars.net/articles/december2005/191205spying.htm

The spying is real and it's been going on a LONG time. Most people are just starting to hear about it as they get more bold passing laws that undermine our constitution and more people are paying attention. You are under total surveillance already. You just think you have a right to argue about it.

I really didn't read disclaimer.....all I needed to hear was:

"Seeing Yellow, a project by MIT's Media Lab, claims that after contacting the printer manufacturer about how to disable the tracking dots, the Secret Service showed up at one consumer's door asking questions"

Pretty convincing I would say :smoke:

I never understand why it's made clear: "This is what is being implemented", people still debate whether true or not....

Me?

I always take their word for it, and then double assumptions of capabilities... :smoke:....

I agree with Stoned. They know everything we do and I'm sure they store all that info regardless of if they use it or not. Hell, they finally finished every calculation so that a computer can beat a human at chess every time. It wasn't my intention to start an argument I just figured I throw it out there since I never knew it was happening. I'm just going to assume it is. The way I look at it, for all the stuff the public knows about there much more we don't.

You might want to start paying attention then because there is a total onslaught against our rights in this country and it's quickening. The funny part is they've been doing this a LONG time and not many have even noticed. Well, then again, over 800 citizens of the US have had the patriot act and homeland security act used against them. Nah, no need to worry 'bout those either. :joint:
