I have been playing with a new method of "flushing." I have been tossing my cut plants (namely cut stems) into a bucket of R/O water with 45 degree cuts so they wick.

The logic being that they will directly (and VERY QUICKLY) suck up the R/O water, full flushing the buds in a pure environment.

To further test this theory, I cleaned out a section of my refrigerator and tossed em in. I figured the removal of light for 24-36 hours would encourage the plant to throw more resin by allowing it a longer period of time to release its flowering hormones.

As a test of "flow" and a test of marijuana's similarity to roses, I added about 5 drops of blue food coloring to the water.

Sure enough, the Chernobyl's buds that were allowed a few days in the fridge with the R/O & blue food coloring are 1) WAY frostier than the "non dipped" branches from the same plant and 2) are showing blue highlights through the sat leaves. Which means Im going to have to play technicolor with a group of plants soon...

The smoke / smell / taste was def. STRONGER for all 4 patients who tested it over the baseline chernobyl.

Playin around, huh? My understanding of flushing theory is that you use it to starve a plant and eliminate the nitrogen reserves within...I don't think you are doing that, are you?

By chopping the stem, you slowed down the flow of clean water, you didnt' speed it up. Wrong direction.

By placing them in your refrigerator, you eliminate the light, so there will be no utilization of nitrogen and no flush...throw in the cold temps, and you are slowing everything down to almost zero biological activity...wrong direction.

Blue dye...are you supposed to smoke that stuff? Scares me...there are lots of things that are safe to eat but not safe to smoke.

You may be seeing more trichs on the outside, that doesn't mean there is more total TCH...I would argue less, my friend...

Blue food coloring was added because I originally agreed with the last post. However, the leaves (and on one bud the buds themselves) turned blue. Explain how that happened if the plant was biologically inactive.

As for smoking the ish, we both know we've done far worse to ourselves in the past than consuming blue food coloring dye at a mix of 1ml per 500ml.

I've tried this with several strains without any vascular transmission. Then again, we don't trim wide ,which would mean there weren't any petioles to suck up the color which would be the most likely place for dyes to deposit. I would be interested in polysaccharide sweeteners, sorbitol etc. in post harvest treatments, could be interesting......

or then again, you could just leave her "as is" like this girl

Starting my book, its pretty basic but I just wanted some opinions....You may have to press control+ to enlarge the image so you can read the font. This is the first and second strain in the book, 2 pages on an 8.5x11 piece of paper folded in half.

Voo, in my very un-scientific mind i would have to think that dropping the stem in RO for another day or two under bright light would be the way to achieve cleaner buds. Then the plant has no nutes at all to absorb from the soil and uses everything left in the leaf before final trim.

I believe this to be the reason why hydro grows can flush faster than us soil guys. Plain RO in the rez (maybe with a catalyst) will get you very clean buds IF it is done for long enough, which most are not..

Sorry i had to multiquote those two posts but number 1000 is my next one and i think i'm going to use it to update my grow thread after a watering tomorrow.

On that note, i really don't know if vertical is the way to grow. I can compare buds from my last grows with these one and see noticeably larger buds in the flat garden (same time of course). But the final numbers will tell for sure.

Thanks Nata! #1-I finally just decided it's my major about a week ago. I'd been saying I wanted to go in the graphic design direction for a long time so I figured why not actually take it serious, gotta see how it goes but I do like to work with computers and art. #2-That's awesome send me some info, although I probably lack the required skills since I'm a noob! #3-You got it! Great work Medfinder you have really contributed a lot and you've been here such a short time! I know you were probably always growing, but it's nice to see you dedicate some information and time to the SD thread! Sour Grapes looks bomb!!!!! I got a sample of this last summer in north county. The fellow said it was done in an astounding 42 days or something...I remember I wanted to rename her Quick Sticky Punch because she was also very sticky icky and she did pack a whallop...quality product.

I smoked a strain called the "whoo" 8 years ago....nothing like any kush.....tasted lemony ...and to this day top 3 best strains i have ever smoked....the Who Greyskull is refering to isnt the dank who...i too know that cat and have access to that cut...huge yielder of orange tasting nugz....nothing oh boy would even run a whole table of....

on a side note....any strain that has anything Grape in it...all originated from the Middle East....one of my Iranians smell like Purple Big League Chew and is just amazing looking!!!! i'll take pics soon....... Time to End the this OG Kush craze and start a new trend In a few months when i have a room full of my fav Iranians I'm game to smoke the whole SD crew out....maybe I can get at APE and set something up or maybe Mr Subrob I cant enjoy this Triple AAA Nuggetry alone

Been to 2 collectives in the past 2 weeks and they both had Bullrider in stock. The first place was in mission bay and it was the exact same BR I had always got about 2-3 years ago. The place I visited today was near lake murray and their BR had the same smell has the BR I'm used to but it was even stronger and grown better, more dense of a nug!

So as far as I can tell there is a really nice cut of BR out there, wish I had it.
