Are any of you guys reusing your medium after a previous grow or using fresh/brand new medium and seeing the plants trip out? if u have a stable enviroment..anything short of bugs/disease....no way this should happen...some sort of build up....if your reusing the coco and seeing this problem....salts are fun huh...thats why i switched up Sunshine Mix #4 ...shits on coco

That is what is so weird about this plant bro....I use new coco every time, I used the same nutrients and got duds and gems still. Same exact environment +/- a few degrees...This just shouldnt be happening...

Another cut making her rounds through the south's finest city, Grape Fruit Haze. But check it out... there is simply nothing about this girl that indicates a drop of haze dna and second.. if you grew up growing citrus you would know that her fragrance is just dead on Satsuma tangerine.

So order in the court... I propose a name change yall'

here she is @ exactly 4 weeks

^^^^ditto

edit: drain to waste, too.... not recycling nutes at all fresh food every feed.

one day she started started throwing these duds....
first time i saw it (in flower) i thought they just needed to go a little longer. uh-uh.

its like the fucking twilight zone.... wee-urd
and it happening to a few folks... maybe more so than they are letting on.

i hope no one who has the acquired her experiences the dud once because its a heartbreaker.... watch your clones. and if you see one looking funky, grow it out and see what it does.... its fucked...

Hey Cali, that GCI looks tasty.

I gotta say all this talk about Duds & Gems from the same plant makes me question investing much more time into Sour Dubble and it's crosses. Here's my
Sour Dub x Gurrellia Gold Day 29

I sure enjoyed Sour Dubble when I smoked it & we've all seen how awesome she can look but......
Hopefully the Gurrellia Gold will help stabilize things in this cross. I'm going to backcross her with some male SourDubxGG pollen & then will probably sit on the beans for a bit while I play with less problematic strains

cali thats funny about the goverment con. I was thinking the same thing,I am running 7 more different strains in the same area, moms cuts and flower, like I said I havent seen any sighn of it spreading, if it does it could be a disaster. I also thought about back crossing the dub to a sour diesel male, but Im really not sure it was the sour diesel they or he used to make the dubb. I would really like to talk to someone that has been breeding like sam or soma just to see if they have ever encountered anything like this, everyone I know like resin rider and others that have been growing for 20 years or more have never seen this happen.

Same reason/way the Red Fuji came from the Fuji apple tree, just a spur with a mutation... Look up stomatic mutation or plant chimera... This is not new :tiphat:

Clones can and will change just look at african violet "breeders", new "strains" from clones all the time. (no seed making)

Ragga mon rockin' the towers'. Bring it buddy!

I think the "cutting through" is the thc/cbd ratio change you are experiencing. You can practically smell the cannibanoids on a lot of these kush lines. I have alien dawg in flower and she looks to have a decent amount of sativa in her sap not to mention that sativa sweetness I love.

L

Lord Humungus

all is know is the ether (or maybe paint thinner ????) AlienDawg is fucking fantastic.
smoking all day long heavy indicas, to have something cut thru the fog like that, only few can that... and those that do are worthy....

and its only a few i was really impressed. i rarely can ramble on about how good a plant/bud is... its one of those special ones for sure. NO DOUBT

curious how the cherry does its thing.... but man the ether/paint thinner one... wowza

*Journeyman*

*25% of the cuts ive taken the last 3 runs have gone the way of the 'dud'..... from same mom

*the branches are way brittle - instead of having any kind of pliability they SNAP when you put a little pressure on them... they snap right where the branch meets the main stem. hell, you can snap the main stem between your fingers with just a little pressure. and itll sound like SNAP like fresh crisp celery breaking.....

i think its some kind of disease of virus.... thats what a few other plants are telling me. or maybe its a curse...

it goes from some of the best pot around to THE WORST EVER

id have taken pictures but whos gonna believe its really cuts from the same plant?

oh, its moved to other plants...
Had to check back in after talking to a friend. For sure you get weak cuts out of a batch from the same mom. Many can be weeded out in the veg cycle. Had some cuts in flower totally crap out under certain conditions but only ever a small % and for sure not 25 but still noticeable...but mainly under high stress conditions.

*i noticed they dont root or grow as aggressively
Really stood out for me showing some type of inherent weakness. BOG's Sour Bubble is notorious for vegging sloooowwwww.

I do not think any virus thing. You're talking about coming from bean stock very recently. If anything I'd vote some type of genetic weakness that makes it more susceptible to infection.

A technique for training is to first grab a lower and higher internode with each hand firmly then twist that section in opposite directions. For sure you should hear/feel a pop/snap. Just trying to bend/manipulate older growth without softening up that section can be a problem.

She sounds a bit finicky.

ragga-glad you found the new home bro. im still kinda reeling from the first samples...as...um...lord humongoushead(haha) said, its rare to find a new cut in cali that stands out, reaaaallly stands out. you look like you got that shit dialed in tight!
---journey...thanks for the input man...i think, because i havent seen the prob yet im gonna go ahead and run her again, hit her w some of that pollen and see what happens...

Sounds unusual and also a red flag. For sure a possible marker trait for this girl. I would think a back cross would amplify any problems and a suitable outcross might fix it. So many great genetics out there though but always nice to learn a bit more how things combine. When you start seeing traights passed on to offspring then an 'Aha!' moment.
