Been quiet in these threads with all of the movemen's going on lately with Johnny law. Hope everyone is staying safe out there.

I may be wrong, but I think its slowing down in here due to ease of access. I know at one point I had access to the boards through a mobile app, but now with other social media outlets showing promise, I feel like everyone is defaulting to the argument of "ease of access".

Just .02 cents. I could be reading the situation wrong.

MedTree Seeds show!

Catalina Wine Mixer (mindmeld pheno) top and lower bud details. The plants just starting out in the background are from another member of SDF, they're Pineapple Sour Sunset x Fruity Pebbles OG.

Who says autos are junk? Skystormer x Strawberry Gelato smells awesome and looks even better.

Terp- are you stoked for the "Boats & Hoes" off the side of the Mind Meld pheno?

I actually did two different selections based on expressions within both lines. I’m stoked for each as they should produce similar, but different outcomes.

The first was indoor oriented. The super squat and fast finishing OG-cookies leaning Catalina Wine Mixer female crossed to a very mango smelling (primarily Zamaldelica) Zamaldelica x Panama male. The goal for this cross is more or less a zamal trippy og that colors / frosts up and works well in small setups as the CWM female I used barely stretches.

The second, which will probably produce more stretchy plants is a super fruity smelling, slightly stretchy mindmeld leaning male of Catalina Wine Mixer to a high yielding female pineapple-lemon-mango Zamaldelica x Panama. With this cross I’m going for maximum fruitiness with color and size. It’s probably going to require training for micro setups but will work well in tents and should be ridiculous outdoors as Panama yields like its it’s job.

In reality, I’m sure both will produce tall & squat plants, but I wanted to keep the beans separate to try and start cutting down the pheno hunt with my initial parent selections.

Ok, so we've all been doing it wrong - or at least, I've been doing it wrong. I've said (heard just about every grower I've ever met say) that autoflowering seeds are great for people who don't care about quality, size, smells, legit genetics, so on and so on.

I ran 3 MedTree Seeds Skystormer x Strawberry Gelato autoflowers and got 2 females. Both plants ended up about 3.5'-4' tall and looked great. One was more Skystormer, but the Strawberry Gelato pheno was more purple and I had to share it. I want to stress that this is a partial shade / natural organic soil in an SIP grow, no ferts, no tricks.

Big ups to ECTraveler for letting me try these out. The main cola on this plant is bigger than my forearm in length and thickness and has been compared to a baseball bat more times than I can count.

it looks like this thread is for sharing pics and information of cuts found in SD? is there a "quality" place/person in SD to purchase some elite genetic clones from? I am looking for something to grow outdoors that does well outdoors here in our SD environment.

I live close to La Jolla so humidity is usually higher where I'm at i think. So I guess I should look for something known to be pretty mold resistant? anyone have any suggestions on where to find some good cuts here in SD to grow outdoor?

Dear newguy, it is not the best time to grow outdoor.

This is usually harvest season for most people. And if you start a seed or a clone right now you are going to have a heck of a time with outdoor temps and minimal light.

Your best bet is to get a clone from a dispensary, grow it indoor right now under 18 hours of light in your closet, and then transplant that beautiful plant to outdoor in march.

Best of luck to you.

really? Im so confused. I've asked on different forums about whether or not it's true us California folk can really flower all year round if we wanted to. IIRC the general answer I got from people usually was that yes we could for the most part. just did a quick google search and people in this thread even seem to confirm it.

i dont understand why some people say yes and some ppl say no... has a lot changed in our environment in 4 years? Less light would just equate to flowering cycle right? so as long as i veg indoor cant i just take them outside to flower at any time during the year? Our winter time is not that cold here thats for sure i shouldnt be worried about winter temps here in san diego and my cannabis plants right?

Light intensity changes during the year as a result of distance from the sun. That's why greenhouses use supplemental lighting to keep things at a given minimum intensity. Less light, results in a non-marketable fluffy product. Fewer hours of daylight, ie photoperiod, yes, results in flowering. ANY temperatures below 68 degrees and you'll see marginally reduced growth rates. With colder temps comes different humidity controls. Excess moisture and cold air means a perfect environment for molds and mildews and rot. Warmer temps in the greenhouse vs exterior cold temps means condensation along the walls, which means even more humidity control and air movement necessary to control these factors.

CAN YOU. Yes. Should you? I guess that depends on your abilities as a grower and what you expect to get as a result. The only way you'll know for sure is if you do it and find out. Experience is the best teacher.

Oh yes, you can grow all year round.

But if you look at the flower companies up in Carlsbad (generalization) they all have green houses, even along the coast.

Please do try, this is how we learn. I would suggest doing it in a pot so it could be mobile. If you need to take it inside, you can.

ok thanks for the feedback guys. I have 6 no till pots in my backyard and the plants that are currently in them are ready to be chopped. And i would hate to just have my no till pots sit there and not be used. If anyone has done no till you would know that the topsoil needs to be kept moist to keep the worms and other beneficial creatures happy. I would hate to have to keep the topsoil moist year round without any plants in them haha

Then grow cold season bibb lettuces and such things like kale, collards or mustard greens to keep the soil active and still producing. Worst case scenario you add some additional nitrogen back to the mix in the the spring.

Can someone point me to where info is on CA seed pack labeling requirements. I've been searching for a few days with no luck for seed packs.

I do not think there are any seed pack labeling requirements.

Just list all the stuff you would usually list and you should be fine.

I have the file on my phone but it's way up in a very long conversation and my phone hangs up before I can reach it.

It just changed and could change again in 9 days.

There was child resistant and tamper evident packaging requirements but those got removed 6 days ago. But that could be reversed in 9 days (15 day comment period) or also on Dec. 1st when the final regulations are issued

As of this moment the following are the recreational regulations for seeds
-That were grown in a licensed facility,
-Have the CA! universal symbol at least 1/2" x 1/2" in size
- Have the following disclaimer
"This product has not been tested as required by the Medicinal and Adult-use Cannabis Regulation & Safety Act."

I'm using 1gram CR poptops for the time being but looking into an actual packaging company to design something.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find any info for seeds. I think it must fall under cannabis products?. This is where I've been looking

https://cannabis.ca.gov/2018/06/29/new-packaging-and-labeling-resources-available/

I copied the label and test printed it. Its not the best quality but should be ok. My packs are heat sealed. I assume that's good for child resistant?. I could get some of these stickers printed ..
