I walked into a "legal" dispensary today- and they wanted to scan my drivers license and put my name into a computer system- I declined and left. I won't be participating. How come they didn't mention that when they told everyone how great prop 64 was? I don't need to get my name added to a system to buy a case of beer... pissed!

I suppose for some being on a list was not an issue at all. This to some degree bothers me more than your decision to walk away from a transaction that will place your name on a list.

Such a requirement seems on the face of it to be excessive and an invasion of personal privacy at best, at worst I suppose that information could be used against the consumer, particularly if their purchasing history is deemed suspicious in the eyes of the law.

What is truly surprising to me is the lack of legal action against state and local governments concerning how they are or are not addressing cannabis legislation.

There is no state list of names. Those are strictly for the clubs to cover their asses so the same thing doesn't happen to them as in Colorado with Budtenders being arrested because they sold too much to a particular person

*Although I plan on (no choice) operating under the rules of prop 64 I am by no means a fan of the law

San Diego Cat Piss is something I'd really love to find. Is this one obscure even amongst San Diegans?

A business record that would be preserved for a reasonable period of time to be effective protection in court...yes?

That method of self preservation puts the consumer at risk, a list in digital or hard copy form can be stolen or found in a legal search.

To what end various persons might use these lists of your cannabis consumer information is to some extent fairly obvious.

Still, and I'm hoping to not sound like a conspiracy theorist, I don't trust a system that has a cash only business collecting my daily purchasing information alongside my personal information to protect itself.

I would think it obvious that selling a quantity over the possession limit would be unwise...

I know there is a well defined consumer possession limit, is there also a similarly well defined transaction limit here in California that I missed?

I'm probably not going to be popular for saying this but given the ultra anal attention to plant labeling / processing that the state is doing.... am I the only one not weirded out by this?

I have to have a drivers license to buy beer, which is part of a regularly updated government database. Every now and then they scan the code on my ID, which I have to imagine is tied to the system more than just reading "over 21".

I have no bones with my credit card being used to buy the beer, which ties my name, addy, banking information, etc to the transaction on the sellers side. I imagine if the ABC ever came through to make sure sales were legit and wanted to check records they could check the card information against the state database - again, seems fair to me.

Or maybe I just stopped caring about my meager consumption against the grand scheme of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of plants on the production side...

Granted I've held a CA state medical card for the better part of 10 years - so I'm the first to get scooped up, right?

In other news, Mike Tyson is opening a 40 acre pot farm...

This was my exact train of thought - It's been 10 years since I had an active MMJ card in SD, but I know for a fact that when I did have one, LEO got my information. Multiple of the shops I was doing business with in LA/Long Beach were raided by LEO so my information and the association between me and being a cannabis user is well established.

However, I do get that people would be weirded out when walking into a pot shop and instantly see your ID getting scanned. I feel that shops could do themselves a HUGE favor by disclosing where that data will be stored/used and if they will delete it after "X" amount of time.

I could see people being a little sketchy because of that letter the atf sent out about cannabis use and gun ownership.

I personally don't give a FUUUUUCK as I make it a point not to but some of those gun dudes can get a little nervous bout that kinda thing. lol

If weed was looked at by the feds the same as beer I wouldn't be concerned a bit, such is not the case.

I tried to use my med card once, the shop wanted the original full sized medical recommendation, which I didn't have on me. Seeing as I tend to cover my own needs the card gets to sit unused till that prop no longer exists.

I could see people being a little sketchy because of that letter the atf sent out about cannabis use and gun ownership.

I fully respect the ideology alluded to in Martin Luther King, Jr.'s comment in his famous letter from Birmingham Jail: "One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws."

Looks like the thread is getting some action!
Great to see all the pics. Let me try to clear up a little of the confusion on the Cornbread Bubba.
Cornbread Bubba (Triangle Kush x pre-98 Bubba )is from CSI Humboldt. Rare Dankness has a strain they call Cornbread (Katsu Bubba x rare dankness #2).
What I have shared is Cornbread Bubba that came from a pack I got direct from the hands of Nspecta of CSI Humboldt at Emerald Cup 2013.
To complicate things, our friend APE has re-branded the cut I gave him as "Beach City Cornbread ".
To even further complicate things, I'm not 100% sure which pheno RedSpaghetti ( and now Grizz and others) have. At the time I gave Red the cut, I had 2 phenos. I know the one that APE and SubRob have is my preferred (and now only) version. I would be happy to share it further as my little nursery can accommodate. It got SubRobs stamp of approval for both yield and potency. It tastes a LOT like pre-98 but grows like TK.
