like trybud said, try google maps and google earth; even though i'm personally not a fan of people going and guerilla growing on other people's property or public land.
community garden would probably never work unless it's out in the middle of nowhere and has security like a mofo. that shit would get ripped off real quick without necessary precautions. caregivers can do it on their own property though.
growing space can be dealt with - look at how clever some of these growers get when they use a PC tower as their space...
knowledge...read up my friend. buy a grow book and use the "search" function as much as possible whenever possible. reading will help, but experience is the real educator here.
