S2D's Build and Grow it BIG!

Hey outame...that's an easy 1/2 lb'er with the 1k going from the looks of it...if the t-haze puts out weight like my skum widow haze did...

Mushu....you know...I got the door caulked and puttied and the final skimming done on the walls. It's getting closer. Sand, paint, remove the back door, set the timers for the lights, and build the system. Very close, but that's still a ton of work. It's killing me. This thread will be 50 pages before I sprout a seed, lol!

Yeah, I can't wait to see the sdg13 in bloom. What's cool is now I can actually watch these grow before I get to them!

I wish my health was in better shape. All this sitting around the house is killing me. That surgery goofed me up good and since then I can hardly stand on my left leg for very long. I have a long list of issues that go along with it. Ended up filing for disability at 31 yrs old. Hopefully I can get the medical help I need to get working again.

My biggest issue is feeling like crap is slowing me down on this project and I need this bud growing like yesterday!!

Hey Maj. Pothead! Thanks for poppin' in bro....I'm steadily working away at it as best I can. Here's a little update.

First, I have to say, this grow room is starting to turn out really sweet. The floor is now finished with three coats of Armor Seal 1K waterborne urethane, which is a heavy duty industrial floor coating. It's gray (only color I had) but let's just say it was "in stock" on my paint shelf.

Second, I'm sealing in the a/c unit, and I snapped a few pics. The windows are old aluminum frame single pane windows, and the upper pane is already cracked. To remedy this, and to make the unit SECURE in the window I'm bracing it and blocking the window with a piece of plywood.

Here you can see the windows being coated with black paint. Couple coats, we'll have a nice clean appearance outside and NO seeing inside.

Here we have a piece of trim that will bring the sill up to the height of the aluminum lip on the window. A piece of regular foam will go across this strip to seal the bottom of the unit in.

This is the cutout that will go around the a/c....near perfect fit. It will be caulked in place, and foam will be placed around the top and side of the a/c unit where this board fits against it.

Here's a few shots of the floor...man is this a beautiful space for such a sacred plant!! Makes me feel good to provide my cannabis such a clean home! :headbange

Oh, meant to say, I'm hoping that by securing the a/c unit this will make it a better deterrent to thieves. The cheap aluminum window with the unit it you could just snatch the unit right out and break in. So, this gives me a weather tight seal, better security, and a cleaner look on both sides! I'll post pics when I get the unit re-installed.

S2D since you are a painter, I got a question for you.

Is there any product that you can spray into a room to seal it? Lets say all the drywall was up and you wanted a water proof paint job that would also seal the room and any little cracks at the joints, etc.

In South Florida (maybe other areas too) they use a product on the flat tile roofs that seals the tiles together and makes the roof waterproof. It is some type of elastic material. I was wondering if there was a similiar material that we could spray into a room sealing and avoid the hassle of panda plastic.

There are products that can do it like elastomeric paints. I believe this is what you're talking about. The problem is, there is nothing designed for an interior application like that and any attempt at it with a paint product would end in disaster. The amount of product that would have to build on a surface would not work well on interior materials like drywall. Something of that sort would end in massive cracking and peeling just because of the nature of the materials involved.

In my room, it's just sealed drywall. All corners and seems are taped, mudded, and/or caulked. The only gap in this room now is along the floor, and baseboard will be caulked in top and bottom to fix that. Even the cheap keyless fixtures on the ceiling are caulked in place. There are absolutely no gaps here and it's all done conventionally. Most new construction is pretty well sealed like this or can be quickly fixed up with caulk and weather stripped, but I think panda poly will still be the way to go in other situations.

Very clean looking room, you're really putting a lot of work into this.
I can't wait to see you get some plants started.

nice looking floor. should be easy to keep clean, and repel water pretty well.
so are you drawing air in through a vent in the door? i can see co2 in your future with a nicely sealed room. then no need to intake air. cool tubes would have to draw from outside then exhaust back outside.
i guess they'd get plenty of fresh air just from going in and out a few times each day.
:respect: to you amigo.
