Run #5, Grimm situation in the big tent

Flowers forming, with all the plants about even. No tribbles taking over the tent, yet...

We'll see if they get any bigger. I may have flipped them a tad early for max yield.

Happy 4/20 everyone. Nothing like a tent full of plants to celebrate.

I'm not taking any chances. Forced filtered air, stinky bacteria, and now these killers. I think I saw a killer red mite scampering across a leaf the other day. Here are more for the party.

Thanks you guys. I think the forced filtered air is helping a lot. The positive pressure also feeds the adjacent tent, where run #6 resides.

Chugging long... no clear winners or losers this run, just a sea of flowering goodness. The stalks are nice and thick, so bring on the weight.

They are all still pretty much even in height. Still some stretching going on, and I have been raising the light to keep the umoles around 800. The swamper with forced filtered air is the ticket for cooling the tent.

It's down there somewhere in the center. Controlling the SIP water height, directing the filtered air flow evenly around the bottom of the tent, cooling the air as it passes through the bucket and hits wet wicks inside. You are welcome tent-growing world.

Chuggin right 'long in there. I was gonna set-up a top water rig where I could mix up a batch of goodness in a 5 gallon bucket, and pump directly onto the top of the soil from it, like a coco set-up. I wish I had, cause I have to open up the tent and do it manually now. More bugs can get in with open doors. I might as well take out some fan leaves while I'm in there.

Still stretching, and they are getting fed today. Bangi Haze left front is pulling ahead slightly from Princess Haze (left rear), but only by a nose. There is room for another foot or more light height available in there. Another pound gonna come out of this tent I believe.

Hey FLGH, plants are taking to the environment and looking good. You had mentioned the cooling effect of your positive airflow system. Are you measuring humidity levels and if so what are you currently hitting? As you get into the later flowering stage do you have plans to reduce the humidity through removal of the wicks?

Nice full canopy by the way. Do you remember how long you vegged for?

The swamper does add humidity as it cools, and that is a concern. The tent is running about 60% rh now.

I am thinking about taking out the wicks, and also raising the top portion of the swamper higher with another top part cut off a bucket inserted in the stack, so the cool exit air blows across the top of the bag soil.

Outside looking in...

Now that the WuFlu has passed, leaf thermometers are available. I got this one at Harbor Freight for under $20. The temp of the buds as they get close to the lights does increase. In my quest for frost I will be addressing those temps, maybe with string to pull down the buds. Without a 'Flylowgethigh' light height controller, I have the lights about as high as I can get them. The power level, or tying down the tops, is what remains for options. I use the power to control the air temp. I think light height and power work hand-in-hand. Definitely want a leaf temp reading when setting light height.

I think.

A bud that is up closest to the light read in the 78* range. This thermometer can also measure the water temp in the reservoir. I bet it can read soil temp too.
