Haha who cares about traditional ganja? We only care about the other green stuff.

In an old sensi seed catalogue the Kerala is described as a short bushy sativa.

If yours want to reach for the sky then its a sign that the gene pool has been polluted?

G`day ob

I thought I had read every Sensi seeds catalogue from cover to cover and memorised the details .
Never once saw Kerala ? Nevil didn`t work with Kerala genetics as far as I know .

I read about Ganja from Kerala in MJ Botany by RC Clarke in the 80s .
Didn`t see or hear another reference till I got on the internets in the naughties .

Do you have a source for that info re Kerala from Sensi Seeds ?
I have never heard Kerala and Sensi Seeds associated before your post .

Kerala Krush ? Kerala x SK ??

I think I have found the explanation .
Sensi has bought out The Flying Dutchman and now sells their varieties . Seeds Man also sells the same beanz .

That gear traces back to Sam SK Man and Eddie from TFD and his famous SK stud .

Thanks for sharin

EB .

I'm with Elmer. Got a sack of Kerala Krush x Sk1 around here somewhere.

A lot of stuff traces back there.

I got some great news people.

I found a male plant.

A few weeks ago, I placed 5 of my NL/Oldtimer Haze Hybrids that I made outside instead
of culling them. They are in a forest clearing in my local mountains. Well it turns out that
one of them is a male. :woohoo:

So I guess, I'll be seeding this girl eventually.

Well here's a picture of her taken today and she's 36 inches tall not including the 4 inch square pot.

She's taller than all of my Keralas and much less bushy.

As you can see it's very tall and Sativa like.

Imagine this same plant in a gallon pot. :fright:

Seeing that it's flowering nicely now I transplanted it
last night into a 5 inch pot like the pure Kerala are in.

We'll see how much taller she gets.

Yes she did. Quite nicely and thanks for asking.

Here a picture of her top I took yesterday and her two smaller clone sisters are doing fine as well.

Well it took some ninja skills, but I brought my smallest clone to join the NL X Oldtimer Haze male in the forest.
I'll leave this plant outdoors for 2-3 weeks or as long as it takes at which time I hope it gets pollinated by the male
which is only a few inches away. This way no cross pollination can happen and my pure Kerala females are safe.

I've always wanted to test making mostly Sativa seeds partly outdoor anyways where I'm at.

It may give me more breeding ideas to refine later.

Once I harvested my seeded and much shorter Kerala plants it will be easier to take a good picture
of this now giant plant as it dwarfs all them now. It's about 4 feet tall not including it's small pot.

I just transplanted my 2nd clone.

I wait until my Sativas are this far into flowering before I transplant them. I find that plants stretch a whole lot less if
flowered in a 4" square pot for a few weeks before transplanting them up. I'm using 5" square pots now and you can see
the size differences between the two pot sizes. The smaller one is the 4" that the plant was in a few minutes before.
This plant is currently 31" tall and I don't expect it to get taller than the giant 4' one I have now.

Thank You BG,

I sure hope the smallest of these clones hiding in forest field now gets pollinated by that NL X Oldtimer Haze male a foot away from her.

How about some updates?

Compare the size of the can of Pepsi.

Imagine this plant in the soil in a greenhouse instead of a tiny 5" pot. :woohoo:
It's 4 feet tall not including the pot and totally unseeded.

Here's closeup of seeds forming on my smallest clone. It will be making only a dozen or two seeds. But they are easily 2X
the size of the pure Kerala ones. I'll be putting these to work one day. The daddy is a Northern Lights X Oldtimer Haze.

This last pic shows my tiny seeded clone in the foreground and my other taller clone on the left along with my last
unseeded Kerala. They still have along way to fill in. I'll be transplanting the little seeded one tomorrow I guess.

Well my tiny Highland Thai and Kerala hybrid female clone didn't produce as many seeds as would have like.
I harvested only 10 seeds yesterday on August 31, 2016. Still some is better than none.

But look how big they are compared to the much smaller pure Kerala on the right. :woohoo:

This is the pedigree of these 10 magic beans.

RSC Highland Thai (male) X RSC Kerala (female) = female X male = 2 Sensi Seeds Northern Lights (male) X Ace Seeds Oldtimer Haze (female)

BTW: The calyxes they came out smelled amazing and as you can imagine very large.
Much larger than any other Sativa I've grown. It will be very interesting to see what
happens in the F2 generation. There could be some real fire in there.

To think the seed that created the plant that made this clone was the size of the pure Kerala is wild.

I guess the Highland Thai calyx size and odor are two dominant traits.

:groupwave:

It took a little searching but I finally found a picture of my original RSC Highland Thai and RSC Kerala seeds
pictured below. As you can see the original Highland Thai seeds were not tiger striped at all and were much
bigger than the Kerala as well. The tiger striping on the Kerala is there but it's very hard to see as I think
that they were old seeds.

I'm going to try and source some more Highland Thai seeds this Fall.

I did make a few in 2010. But am not sure how viable they are.
With fresh Highland Thai seeds I could easily makes lots of this
cool hybrid.

Those huge calyxes that produced those 10 seeds is something I really like.

Hi Corky,

Sure looks like a real deal Thai that you are growing. Very nice job, by the way. I thought I'd post to make sure I'm subbed, and to put my 2 cents in at the same time.

The seeds I found in the Thai Sticks that I had when I was young were huge. The seeds I have recently been gifted that most look like the Thai seeds I remember were some Colombian Punto Rojo seeds. These particular Punto Rojo plants were called Punto Oro. Here is a picture of them next to some Colombian Gold seeds that are rather small, for contrast/scale:

I would guess the Thai Stick I was getting way back when must have been Highland Thai.

Again, nice job growing the Thai and Kerala. Looking forward to any updates you might post.
