Root Aphids - Easy to read

I was just tired of seeing the little shits. I had them fairly under control and wanted to finish them off. Everything looked lush before I did the dunk. All the new growth is looking great. Another thing was the plants closest to the light had the most burn.

Turns out nematodes, botanigaurd, met 52,and hypoasis mites doesn't do shit to control an infestation. Went with Kontos and high amounts of crab hydrosalate to provide chitin.
Plants are lookin decent and I'll pull off an ok crop thanks to the kontos.

I had these lil bastards once with fungus gnats at the same time in my coco grow... I tried a lot of products and with out any success, until I used Bayer complete insect KILLER, not a control but an absolute killer. add 1ml per gal to your res an 3/5 days latter no RA no gnats none! this is a 100% killer not a control if you have either RA or gnats this will eliminate ALL.

Then you didn't do it right. Those measures have worked well for me, and have *eliminated* the problem with OGBioWar. And I'm not smoking systemic chemicals like you are. Good luck. -granger

I'll be doing a Spirotetramat test, I highly doubt it will be present as it has a very short half life.

Og biowar is a rip off if your goal is to eliminate, even cap admits still having lingering aphids when using his bio*control* product.

mk6, where did you get the 1ml per gallon for 3-5 days dosage rate? How did it affect the finished product? Since I had some of this stuff on hand, I went ahead and applied it as you have suggested. That is for an ebb/flow setup, I also plan to use the same formula on hand-watered plants.

That has not been my experience. Have seen no evidence in a year. Did spud test recently. Negatory.

Label says it kills for up to 3 months in soil. Half-life means that half of it is still there [for you to smoke]. -granger
P.S.- Be careful how you use words like "ripoff."

The method suggested by mk6 worked for me. Not 100% sure that what I had were root aphids, but they were some kind of micro-bug that attacked roots, that I am sure of.

The b-cyfluthrin zapped the bugs and the imid deprived them of future food. Plants recovered but the damaged roots resulted in a reduced yield. As far as I can tell, the plants were in no way hurt by the Bayer product itself. I still question the origin of the 1 mL per gallon suggested dosage, but I also noticed that there is quite a variance in imid content among the various Bayer products containing imid.
