Darn, I hate posting my puny sativas on the same page as Bushweed!

Here is my 'blackboard jungle'

Oldtimers Haze on the left and Destroyer x Malawi bent to the viewer's right. A Destroyer x Chocolope top can be spotted in the background:

Destroyer x Malawi bud @ 23 days (White) next to an Oldtimer's Green Haze bud of equal size and maturity @ 85 days. You can really tell the difference between the pistil color, the green haze has GREEN flowers, almost like the green orchids you see in grocery stores around my parts.

To me it seems as if the most pure sativa strains are only available in
regular seeds, although it's changing.
Some feminized seeds of hybrids between pure sativa's would be cool to me. Something like Panama x Malawi or ...

The Spanish seem to be leading the way on the fem front.

I prefer regular seeds, cause I like to make my own seeds.

Like to be able to revisit as needed,,, from my own genetics bank, when possible.

I keep them in the Deep freeze so they stay viable longer.

Check out that sweet bromeliad on the log in Bushweed's last post. Very cool spot.

I fed her some Cal-Mag+ and it did that.
She needs to be t/p'ed from a 2gln to a 4gln.
I think its a combo of hot soil, Cal-Mag+ and being rootbound.

Darn, I am about to feed Cal+Mag myself, today. I might try a 1/3 dilution.

My Destroyer x Malawi untopped main koalabear is resisting the curl, and I love the structure!

bushwilson-

pretty sure thats just bamboo in them pics?...when were they Started?

So the thai dominant strains wont be picked untill late July?? They must grow through pretty easy...I like the idea of leaving some
just to naturally reseed

are those mango biche even longer flowering than the thais??

Beautiful plant Bear Riot.
I was smelling the JLB the other day, and man does she have that landrace smell to her.
It brought me back to highschool days when I last smoked pure landrace JLB.
I toked 3 hits off a roach and I was gone! I really am excited to puff her after waiting a very patient 25 years.
Ill be getting soil today for the T/P into a 4gln pot. Probably HappyFrog.

The Cal-Mag+ also made rust spots on the fan leaves. These sativas really dont need any CM+ I guess.
If your plant isnt showing any deficiencys then I would hold off on that Bear.
The CM+ allowed the plant to absorb much more N than it needed...thats why the leaves curl like that.

Hi,

I have t he experience that if you don't give them calmag while giving them rainwater you'll have deficiencies at the end of the flowering, resulting in budrot.

ya gotta watch what the cal-mag is derived from, lots of em have Calcium Nitrate as the calcium part of the equation.
Also if you use coco then it might be charged with calcium nitrate to make up for it's total lack of calcium. I know the one I use is, so I do not use Cal-Mag.

I use fossilized cocclites for Ca and epsom salt for Mg and also for S of course which is also an element found in epsom salt and is also important for plant growth.

For one strain I am growing, insatiable need for magnesium is in her genetics. Lots of people have reported magnesium deficiency in Chocolope, the father.

The factor that I am less confident about is pH. I guess some strains prefer different pH in the medium, but I am having trouble lowering mine into the 6 range organically. I think proper pH could address my issue.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Deep in flush mode last 7-10 days, using ~ 70ppm Sea Crop only, a fair amount of new pistils

On a recommendation to amp up tric production using 10K bulbs, 2 days ago I replaced some red spectrum hot5 tubes with 3 Quantum 6500s, which is a fall back position

Zipping through this thread, this morning I added MgCa (2:1) supplement for humans then decided to add a pinch of HR V+B= ~ 270ppms. I plan to dilute that to ~ 200 in a bit

Thought I would post new pics

My girl is just starting to put out bigger flowers.
I decided not to t/p her and just tie her over abit. Thats because its so cold out, Im not using my exhaust to take all the lamp heat out of the room. I need it to keep the temps at 79* and the RH at 35%. This means I need to keep my lamps away from my canopy by about 16 more inches than usual.
The top cola of the JLB is only 4" away from the ouside of the lamp shield so Im gonna leave her just the way she is. She is lovin life right now. Shes 4 1/2 feet tall in the 2gln pot. I know she has 10-12 more wks to flower, but she doesnt seem to mind the 2gln pot right now and Im nervous to screw around with her. She is completely rootbound, but I dont believe at wk 8-9 of flower, that she is still growing roots and digging in deeper to hold the bud weight. I feel the root zone is healthy and full and where it needs to be to absorb maximum air and nutrients from the soil.
I dont want to add fresh soil to her and burn her either. She is getting abit more than she needs from the FFOF now. She's finally absorbed enough nutrients from it that the skinny, long 1 leafers, are uncurling and looking healthy.
Waiting 25 years to smoke the strongest flower Ive ever smoked in my life, is gonna make this girl extra special. Its gonna be almost a spiritual experience for me. Im gonna have to go over my good friends house and have a smoke-out with everyone. My boy is part Jamaican.
His dad recently past away, who was very Jamaican, and Im sad that hes not around to sample the JLB. He was a great guy. I miss him. I never bring him up to my friend cuz Im sure its a raw subject. But I wish he could be there for this very special moment with this ganja from his homeland. I will be thinking of him ,and will dedicate that moment with the JLB, my friend, his brother, and his friends, too him.
