Last of the Outback Silk Haze testers.

These fans remind me of Colombian. I know Nevil selected toward Thia, Dwight's Outback selections don't look like this and Silk S favors haze-SEA as well.

This may be quite an outlier throwback given the selections. My experience has been that one one direction is selected the progeny will have more and more of the selection, but when an outlier ghost does pop up it is truer and truer to what is buried in the line.

I'm waiting to hear back more on Outback progeny traits. Time will tell. She flipped today.

no... I mean fan leafs as I said, the fans have little to no trichs and the sugar leafs of pure sativas aren’t so sugary -
I see you edited your replies, well, just one more comment if you dont mind different opinion about this.

The claim that you made earlier "the more pure sativa, the less trichs on fan leaves" is of course valid, I would even say there are no glandular trichs at all. I have yet to see even one example. But that is kind of general knowledge, thats why I asked, if you meant sugar leaf's. Most NLD, especially wild landrace produces trichomes only on bracts to protect the seeds, but with some basic selection, over time, you can easily breed pure NLD with resinous sugar leafs.

in general a good rule of thumb is the more pure a sativa the less trichs on the fan leafs
isn't that where we want a plant concentrating it's energy, the flowers...?
Man if these plants have enough energy to grow 5 meters tall and survive all the environmental shenanigan's, while being extremely potent, I think they can produce abundant trichomes on sugar leaf's without compromising the flowers.

Would you say the legendary Thai sticks imported in 70's were not pure NLD? Yet they were able to stick them to the wall as a test of quality, those buds must have been extremely resinous on the sugar leaf's as well. I hope nobody tells me they trimmed the sugar leaf's lol.

Reference from book Thai Stick: Surfers. Scammers
“A rough test used in Thailand to determine quality was to press a Thai stick against a wall; if it stuck and didn’t fall to the floor, it passed.”

Tom Hill Haze x Sour Diesel Bx2 hybrid I made many years ago. The mother was the most metallic sour smelling THH, now it seems the smell is crawling around it with its intense dark metallic, sour, rubber and pine stank, I couldn't smell anything else touching this plant. It seems disgusting and extremely pleasant at the same time.

look nice ,,tell us more ledo lol
Ha… :tiphat:

Well it’s mom certainly was the most trippy of all the last groupings all of which has the goo; and many of the dads lineage side have been too, like moms, got that goo…

So I’m expecting for it to be the case, it’s more what % and how strong to win this race…and all the while trying to avoid too much depression during our modern day Great Recession… ok I’ll stop I’m high AF

Ive been doing this by growing out many moms across many generations now, choosing favorite(s) only and while using many dads (same bags of pollen various generations of dads of my favorite & a bag pollen my buddy made too with same genetics I shared with him).

This last & final round I’m hitting 5F with only one dad and will bucket each mom separately & an all bucket. Then this path ends, finally & I’m gonna grow sinsemilla for a bit…

These plants are already nearly pure Cambodian x Laos & seeds within will be 96.875% SEA with the remaining 3% & change being Gambian.

Long ways to go still early flower now & been cold in there but things are looking very promising & even better than the moms of last round, 7th or 8th generation of work here now my brother 😎

97% Cambodian & Laos I personally wouldn’t consider much a hybrid especially in context of today and getting up into the 7/8th generations here depending on how the initial work is viewed but I hear ya, everyone is looking for the face ripper indeed ! Seeds will be 8/9th generations of selection & work & culminate over 5 years of CAOS ;)

wernt trying to trivialize your work ledo only going off the two strains you mentioned looks great to me ,,just sprouted a few laos myself out of some females that had the mildly trippy traits and if i find anything decent ill send it to you so you can grow it properly lol

I would have to say 100% it's coming from the Haze side, I grew the critical mass didn't see that look at all in any of them nice male as I think finding stand out males is harder than finding good FEMS to be honest.

Here is a young Mango Haze F2 that's showing very serrated leaf edges.

Purple satellite early-mid flower! Not technically a pure sativa, but himalayan multipurpose plants tend to not fit neatly into either indica or sativa or hemp in the end it seems to be an ancient hybrid

Smell is blackberry tart sour berry fruit drink with a hint of furniture polish, lovely!
