It can be a bit confusing with 2 people using Swami for a cannabis brand. Swami Organic Seed and Swami Select are not the same person. Swami Select does not sell seeds.

Ive been hearing alot of folks talking about the "wheat pheno" being a "side" of a cross; be it Colombian, Thai etc. In my experience the "wheat pheno" is/was just a natural occuring, not particularly desired genetic throwback that used to pop up in larger populations of any real landrace.Thats one of the most beautiful things Ive seen here in my umpteen years drooling over this forum.
Im curious though, is everyone sure that the wheat pheno comes from the Thai side and not from the Mexi/Lumbo side?
Ive been seeing many wheat phenos popping up in Oaxacan lines and it got me wondering if the "thai" wheat pheno of Destroyer is really the Mexi/Oaxacan pheno of Destroyer.
I can only agree, love these crazy foxtailing plants with huge calyxes...and they are still swellingThats one of the most beautiful things Ive seen here in my umpteen years drooling over this forum.

I’ve noticed this “wheat pheno” in the S, and E Africa varieties too , very small percentage thoughIve been hearing alot of folks talking about the "wheat pheno" being a "side" of a cross; be it Colombian, Thai etc. In my experience the "wheat pheno" is/was just a natural occuring, not particularly desired genetic throwback that used to pop up in larger populations of any real landrace.
Of course now your seeing much more of it and people thinking its "a thing" when its really just bad breeding practices.
The abbundance of it showing up reminds me of the appearance of albinos in wildlife which usually indicate a smaller breeding pool where detrimental inbreeding is taking place.
The same bottlenecking of genetics that took place and ruined most post modern herb is now taking place among landrace foundation cultivars mostly due to commercial tendencies in N. American markets (again)
Those phenotypes here among traditional old school marimberos and Cannabis farmers were not prized at all and were culled or put aside.
Remember we live in a world were thanks to ignorance and market trends, mutations are celebrated, be that in Cannabis or canines.
This of course is just one mans opinion.
I dont think anyone would be celebrating mutants or low yielding calyxes on strings in Cannabis, unless it provides special quality that makes it worth growing. I would choose compact bud structure over foxtails any time, if it offers the same or better quality of high. But with some lines, it seems to be the case, the lower yielding, longer flowering often foxtailing plants are just the best smoke. Then you can hardly call it ruined, bottlenecked or too inbred, if its the effect you are after of course. This Destroyer line is one of these cases, as it was confirmed many times, by growers I respect, that these crazy wheat phenotypes are the best smoke.Ive been hearing alot of folks talking about the "wheat pheno" being a "side" of a cross; be it Colombian, Thai etc. In my experience the "wheat pheno" is/was just a natural occuring, not particularly desired genetic throwback that used to pop up in larger populations of any real landrace.
