Wow beautiful Durban haven't seen as much of it lately as I did a few years ago. Still looking for one that finishes in Sept/early Oct and kicks ass. I've never managed to get one I really liked.
Had a mix up with Seedsman, ordered Afghani #1 someone screwed up and put Thai in the pack. I suppose it could be something else but the plant looks very SE Asian.

Now that I'm over my annoyance from getting the wrong seeds I'm starting to enjoy the plant. Didn't begin flowering until after the Autumn solstice. It's doomed, there's no way it'll come close to finishing at my latitude. The wet cold weather will probably do her in before the frost. We'll see where she is on the Winter Solstice.
My Mextiza keeps on flowering. I keep telling myself I'll harvest the top yellow part any day now. Any day now hasn't come and it keeps getting frostier. She's a big plant and the lower immature parts are producing some fat nugs. The lower parts are being attacked by some powdery mildew hopefully I'll be able to keep it in check until she finishes.

One of these years I need to get a real camera.
She's shown great resistance to mold, only a couple little foxtails have had to be removed. The segmented nature of narrow leaf buds makes it hard for the mold to spread and increases the surface area allowing the buds to dry quickly.
She's fun to watch flower because different parts of the plant are finishing at different rates. It's going to be tricky to tell when she's done. I keep removing a branch here or there to open up more light for other branches.
Great garden!
Going by surrounding trees your season look to becoming to an end.
