Mostly correct Mr Nevermind, OG had a sliding scale karma system. That gave more points for grow related forums and less points for their den. If you held your cursor over your karma bars it would tell you how many points you got and the percentage you received thru grow related forums.

It's ment to show new and old members which people's growing advice would tend to be believable. You don't get a lot of positive karma for bad advice.

Wow thats awesome! I wish ICMag would institute something like that. To many people sportin alot of rep points for nongrow related topics.

I think it's funny myself. There's always some trolls that get really worked up over it though, and do shit like try to give you neg rep for no reason to "hurt your rep" like that matters,hahaha. That's little girl shirt, seriously

I don't even look at folk's rep, some of the best info I got was from folks with hardly any posts, and sometimes even folks without even any green squares at all, just that one black square,haha.

I take it as "who knows what they're talking about" and who doesn't, or might but nobody knows yet kinda deal. Rep isn't that big of a deal, but it has its uses.

I use it when someone posts a good picture of a plant or also if they make me laugh or make a good point.

There are lots of good folks here who change names on a regular basis for security reasons. They lose the accumulated rep points each time, but most of us know who the really good growers are by the advice they give. A lot of those folks who have 1 or 2 rep bars have a ton more experience and knowledge than guys like me with ten rep bars.

I think the deal is you give rep to anyone who gives it to you or says something nice about your grow. If you realy want rep you have to run a diary that looks impressive but not be cocky or a know-all and always thank people who post in it. You'l need to spend plenty of time posting in your audiences diarys as well, to keep them comining to yours. This way you will form cliques where rep is exchanged freely for little or no reason. Another benefit of these alliances is that if your disagreeing with someone in discussion, your fellow clique members can come and troll your opponent. even if your wrong, weight of numbers will make you and them look good.
