Well poor as fuck means inexpensive land. The people I know in Butte have never mentioned any tweaker issues. There's some solid stuff going on there. Get in with the right circle and you don't have to worry about that shit. Also who are you letting on your property or telling what you got going on?

I grew off of the beaten path near Jarbo Gap. Some tweakers stole 6 monster plants. It was fucked! I was always having to scare away trespassing hunters and mountain folk who would wander onto our land. There were signs posted everywhere, but they dont pay attention, they want the premature buds and anything else they can steal. I was born in chico and I just dont associate with people from that area. I keep to myself. After 27 years of seeing butte county, I can honestly say its one of the dirtier counties I have come across, but it has so much to do as far as recreation. Also one of the best pot growing climates in California.

Well there are tweakers everywhere. The towns just north and south of me are definitely worse than where I live. When I was living up near Twain my friend up the street always had his dogs outside near harvest time. Even if I was on a large piece of land up there I'd invest in some decent security equipment, fencing, motion detectors, etc. My buddy and I were looking at 80 acres up near Quincy, he's gonna get that for himself, and I was ready to build a double fenced in area with a moat full of crocodiles...lol.

Totally agree with the bolded part and also some beautiful country around there. I lived in a small side canyon on a dead end road with a nice sized creek. A little slice of heaven.

Jarbo Gap.. Before MMJ came along, it was nothin' but inbred tweakers up there. When you isolate an inbred, they can become some real scary motherfuckers. Not the type of scary motherfuckers that will come to your house or anything, but the kind you don't want to dream about... MMJ brought them all out and dumped them right in every day societies lap.. lol, now what? That's not to say it is all bad.. Jarbo is the gateway to endless miles of outdoor fun...

When we had the complex fires I was talking to one of the fire fighters from San Bernardino at the fire camp in old Magalia.. He said he had spent 2 days over in Camelot fighting fires in pot gardens. Said he'd fought fires everywhere in and out of California and never seen anything remotely close to this place and him and his buddies agreed that they would just as soon never return to Butte County again. That was the day some old fart up there was taking potshots at their bulldozers....

El Dorado Hills is top dollar. Placer County has crazy law enforcement. Butte county is your best bet. Just keep to yourself and dont let anyone know you have money.

haha pretty much sums it up...its an interesting county for that reason, i tend to gravitate towards shitholes because than my lowkey existance doesnt anger the cops. i also live near oakland california in a shithole filled with gangbangers, and i have my spot up north in butte and the signs of meth are everywhere.. you might not notice it at first, but spend a few hours in downtown oroville and you will see it...sketchy people hanging out in cars, guys buying little crack pipes and baggies at the smokeshops instead of cigars...half the population over 30 lookin like wynos with sunken shriveled faces, you think they look normal until you get a bit closer and realize they look like they were just slapped in the face with a pepperoni pizza....walmart in oroville is a funny ass place to go when you are stoned, you basically feel better about yourself when you leave but i guess thats every walmart...

nvthis those stories are hillarious...those socal guys probably thought they were in afghanistan, i love butte county everyone up there hates the police and im down with that! its my bug out spot id love to see the cops try to invade the oroville foothills it would be like hamburger hill...

when we were looking for property we stumbled upon this little gated neighborhood somewhere on the ridge..it had "NO DRUGS" signs everywhere and lots of peckerwoods and old folks living there, it was like the druggies had invaded the ridge so tough that the straight lacers had to isolate themselves and get their own hood lol...

I have to go into their houses for my job..holy fuck...I feel so much better about myself when I get home for sure. I've had the displeasure of having to move shit and found cockroaches, rigs, spoons, etc..its just gross, then their toddler comes bopping by.. uggh. I fucking hate oro-vile.

thats the saddest part..the kids have no idea. my neighbor across the street down here oakland were selling and doing meth out of their house....random folks in and out all hours of the night.....the kid would escape across the street and sneak into my yard just to get away from them. poor kid is gonna grow up and probably become a meth user or criminal of some kind because his shit head parents dont know how to raise a kid...

There are all kinds of nice areas around (30 miles) of Butte College. Look for something with at least 2 acres. There are three rivers to fish. Sacramento (Sturgeon, Striper, Salmon), Feather River (Salmon, Striper, Shad, Steelhead), Yuba (Steelhead, Shad). There are foothill and mounain streams. Don't go to Concow, Cohasset, etc. I am 45 min. South of Chico.

This is the most true statement I have heard. I have been to walmarts all over the country and none of them were as bad as the Oroville Walmart. My ex had never been to Oroville and after about 15 minutes in the Walmart she asked me if everyone in Oroville had a physical or mental disability, and or drug addiction. We were high as fuck and felt incredibly great about myself and most of my life decisions.

I feel amazingly comfortable in the Feather River Canyon though. My family has been there since the 40's and I have hiked and fished all up and down it. I absolutely love it. If you get bored go to Beldon Inn or travel up to Caribou and hike along the power house and up the creek or on some random trails. Oh, and if you are in the area, have a smoke and go to Scooters Cafe for some greasy spoon style grub in Jarbo gap. Only open April - October though.

Ha, you'd think the Oroville Walmart would have a huge presence in People Of Walmart dot Com...

The Food for Less down the street is equally tweaky... And let's not get started with any of the 7-11's, lol...

But, Oroville does have a few gems.. I mean, c'mon meow.. Huntingtons Sporting Goods is a must, steeped in local tradition.. Boss Burgers is a time honored classic.. And the rock crawls @ the surplus is cool.. Going through the Chinese Temple blasted on a killer sat is always a treat that only gets better after an afternoon tooling through the gravel pits...

Oroville had absolutely excellent pheasant hunting when I was growing up.. Too bad that's not true anymore... But for fishing, Oroville can't really be beat. It don't matter what direction you go in, you are gonna find it..
