I can't forget about the soil porn -

All that dark stuff is the freshest EWC you can imagine. I didn't put it there, the worms living in my beds did after just a few weeks.

I don't know, I really think we'll be seeing more of this kinda thing soon.

I'm backfilling my transplant holes with amended soil. All the food the worm/plant needs is directly around the base of the plant. Worm gets hungry, feeds on the bone/blood/kelp/oystershell/feathermeal/etc via my amendments. Worm gets thirsty, hydrates via blumat. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I'm not a scientist, but it almost seems like I have a nutrient factory going on in my beds right at my rootzone and I don't have to do a fucking thing except feed my beds every couple months.

Fuck yeah.

10 years ago huh? Starting to sound like father time. Probably had to walk to the feed store up hill both ways in the snow just to buy some alfalfa. :moon:

 For sure. I by no means was the FIRST to be doing it...but I was growing for about 7 years before I ever met another organic grower.

I've spent A LOT of time sharing and discussing organics with so many people...skeptics and naysayers and like minded folks as well...

I'm just glad that more and more people that used to laugh at the notion (like BYF) finally caught on and now see the light and promote such methodologies as heavily as I do...

For ever new organic grower, an angel gets its wings.

That better not be an insinuation that I'm a new organic grower.

Seriously

Nope not at all. I've been following and learning from your grows for a long time, Lap. You know that.

Are your beds right on the ground or are they on top of pallets or something to provide some airflow underneath the bed?

Im considering making a fabric bed container to fit my tent and going no till, wondering if its necessary or recommended to have the bed raised for drainage/aeration.

edit: I was looking back at earlier pages of this thread and cant see if the beds are raised or not but see a PVC pipe in a corner on each bed and reminds me of a few years ago reading I think it was Soma using PVC pipe in corner and down to bottom where there is a layer of gravel, hydroton, or similar material on the very bottom. Is this something you do on yours? If not what is the PVC pipe for in yours?

Thanks for your time.

Sorry, I just saw this now. Yes those beds are built the way Soma did, you know what I'm talking about. If you google soma style beds, one of the first hits should be a diagram.

Those beds are a lot of work and not super cheap to build them correctly. I use Geoplanters now.

he was promoting organics on ICMag before there was ICMag...

If I was ever to go back inside again I'd do cubes on slabs drain to waste with raw salts...I wouldn't bother with organic soil for more than a closet sized grow indoors(6k or less) ...Outdoors...yup...thats the only way been the only way will be the only way

Artie, they aren't haters, they're wannabes wearing very poor disguises. And there really aren't that many, sore thumbs always stick out.

What happened? Things were going so swimmingly
Gardens are rocking still. In fact, this most recent chop of Shire is almost too strong.

I've got almost 2 years of proof that this stuff works, and works great.

I've just decided from now on to choose whom I share information with instead of sharing with a bunch of ungrateful fucks like mojave green and others.

If you ever feel like you'd like to pic my brain, please feel free to PM me :)
