i noticed that you don't use mulch...can you identify what the worms are feeding on...is it just rootballs? ...or the small handful of amendments you add when transplanting?

Yeah both pretty much. In addition to what weird mentioned with the leaf matter. I have a bunch of those little pillbug things in there, they're good at getting the bigger, thicker stuff like stems and fan leaves broken down it seems. That's just a guess though. All I know is that there is very little material left on the surface at the end of the cycle.

My beds sat for some time, maybe 4 months or more, without any plants or attention because of the problem I was having in veg. I was surprised to find a few live worms still chilling under the surface.

I'm starting to move away from blumats to see how that goes. I'm going for a full, deep saturation of the soil and the blumats won't do that for me. There are always dry pockets, at least on the surface, in between each dripper. Seems like a lot of wasted space for good stuff to be going on. I may look into those dripper strips things sometime soon. I think someone mentioned they can work in conjunction with the blumats.

MY nights are the plant's days, sorry I was unclear. When lights are on, I'm getting between 900 and 1250.

Worm power!

Thats amazing, Do they maintain that level all the way thru the daytime cycle, right before they turn off for the "night"? The level is still that high?

hey lap do you ever consider the sub-irrigated planters? seems like keeping soil consistently moist thru-out is part of their appeal. many are now even covering their SIP's to reduce/eliminate evaporation.

I haven't heard of them, I'll have to look into it.

Hey it's been a minute. I had a pretty serious security issue with the grow where these Soma style beds are and had to close up shop. But I've been growing at another spot for a little more than a year, same style but using 4x4 geoplanters.

I went away for 5 days a couple weeks ago and left the lights unplugged by mistake the night before I left. I had 2 instructions for my help - water my moms with plain water and look in on the flowering plants to make sure the blumats arent flooding.
He has grown pot with blumats many times so it was not a complicated instruction. My mistake was telling him that if it DOES flood and gets REALLY BAD, the pumpalarm will send him a text telling him so.
That was all he heard apparently because he never once looked in on the flowering plants and never picked up the ball I dropped.

They were flipped to 12/12 3 days before getting no light for 5. Shit looked FUCKED UP. I really didnt think things would come back.

Not looking too bad now tho. They got a little burned because I didnt think to raise the lights. But they really look pretty ok now.

It was the first strain I grew after being locked up for a couple years. Maybe I was just out of practice and it wasn't Casey's fault. But I think I grew it 3 times and everyone hated it. Never in my life did I ever think I would get stuck with weed I grew myself.

I think I still have at least a pound of that shit under my stairs.
