Really dissapointed in Gavita

Sorry for being snotty. The 240v cord should work, but it depends on the outlet and plug types. Since I really only know 120v and 240v US I'm not going to speculate on whether you could use the 240v cord with their proprietary female plug or not. I will say that 120v cords and 240v cords are fundamentally the same exact thing, and both are rated hundreds of volts above their specification. All of my 120v outlet powered appliances like PC, microwave, guitar amplifier, vacuum, etc. all use standard "120/240v" cords with US 120v plugs.

If it weren't for their non-standard plug and no idea what kind of outlet you're using I'd say go for it, but instead I'm going to apologize for being short with you and move along.

So excited gavita just sent 1400 120v cords to the states getting mine overnighted lot of people saying 3lbs per light is possible I'll be happy w 2.5

Gavita is so over-rated, all they did back in the day was mount their shitty EMF generating Digistar ballast to a DE fixture, their ballasts are nothing special, made by the same factory in China that makes pretty much all the digital ballasts.

I just plugged this light in and I'm quite happy with it so far great spread, bright as shit way brighter then my 1000w se light, no heat, it's hitting my other scrog next to it. I know gavita overall is a pretty solid company as far as their tech goes and quality of their products, but I don't like the way they run their operations and customer service but I'm happy with their new LED light. Only downfall i had to wait 2 weeks to turn it on.

have to agree with this - once you start to learn about professional horticulture fixtures you find out that P.L. Light supplies over 75% of the commerical horticulture industry with HID lighting. Gavita was never a serious player - it's a knock-off of PL Light for the underground cannabis industry. Even today they're doing the same "me-too" bullshit with LED by copying a Fluence fixture.

If you can take the time to wait a month or two you can order P.L. Light fixtures and actually get something manufactured in Holland or Canada with extremely high quality.

Personally I couldn't believe how flimsy the Gavita "pro" fixtures were - they don't even use a real porcelain socket for the HID bulbs! They use a plastic one.

If you take the time (a month or so) to order a PL Light fixture through a greenhouse supply company like Griffin's or Hummert's you'll get twice the quality level of Gavita for the same money. Take a look:

I think the main reason Gavita got popular was because of the double ended lights, philips/gavita were the first to do it on a big scale from what I remember. That's around the time when more people were discovering that umol/par is what matters most to plants. Before that, most people just used basic HID lighting and it was all about lumens. Although expensive, LED seems the way to go for a lot of people. I always wanted to try the double ended lights but they are not practical for my space.

Those Gavitas am buyed are from pre-Monsanto era... so i can take them for bad
fixture and will use them further as they made plants beasts in very short veg time..

She works on strongest feature 1150W almost till end, last 2 weeks i go on lower

Definitly no more than 20",some even closer.. am get that there is
never any burns if those 4 plants that are direct under light little bit
lower than those on sides of a tent.. bowl shaped canopy solve
all issues..
