I have literally found the holy grail of skunk weed, I pulled out a jar containing about a half O tonight, you can literally smell this weed outside of the jar.

I think you have the right idea about this corky. if a phenotype is bred out of a variety. it's gone or very very hard to get back...
that's why I keep so many landraces. I can always go back...
Unless... you have a old skunk variety to work with. like me that was bred out or lost..

I have a pure Afghani clone, but it's not in flower/seeding in my current run. Once I get it appropriately backed up, I will be breeding it to the Uncle Fester's also. Much support for any work with Afghani lines from me.

Looks like some seed development beginning in the Black Lime Reserve by the Uncle Fester's Skunk #18 IBL male, 35 Days in flower.

Uncle Fester's Skunk #18 IBL out of the veg room. A stem rub on this is like fresh crystal meth, which I have not done since 1991. The smell is exceedingly potent, and took me back immediately. Another pheno in veg is much more skunky, but an even poorer specimen. These are a pain in the ass to grow, very finicky and unforgiving. If they contribute the terpenes we seek, I won't mind a bit.

lime green , looks exactly like these which are skunk#2 cross silver pearl ..its not all that stinky but has a very unique smell , a smell that i remember from the late seventies ..very vigorous , robust , and has two distinct pheno's , as above and also a slightly finer leaf one but both have the same growth habit ..

oldbean , i'm not that good at describing smells , its certainly not a sickly smell ..some say theirs smell like pineapple , mango or fox piss with a hint of chocolate ..lol..my nose isn't up to that i'm afraid so all i can compare it to is the weed i and mates grew in the seventies which was predominately skunk or crosses of it ..

I wish I had some 1995 Silver Pearl seeds right now.
It's the 1st name brand seed I grew over 20 years ago.
I miss that plant very much.

yes i am corky , been growing these forever , well almost ..just bulked up with seed this year gone ..and same , i made this cross about 18 yr ago when SP was all the go around here indoor but found they were outstanding outdoor for yield .

Crystal meth, very heavy chemical smell, not like a cleanser, but something one might smell in some type of industrial manufacturing. Anyone who has tried that garbage would likely agree that is what this plant smells like. Remember the story I shared several pages back, where the dude grew this Skunk 18 and said you could peel paint with the bud? I'm thinking it was something like this one perhaps. My #4 pheno in veg is properly skunky in its odor from a stem rub, different than this, and then there are some milder in between smells on others.

Well, I'm going to eventually breed them all to this same select male, or another I like. It will be interesting to see the range of variation in this inbred line. I wouldn't expect the strain to always produce identical cultivars, but it shouldn't have too much variety if it is well bred. I am looking for it to wake something up in a very skunky expression in these F1 crosses, more so really than just trying to get Skunk again. If I have to grow this IBL to get Skunk, I will, but I'm really not a fan of the growth structure, and overall lackluster performance of the plant in both veg and bloom. The first runs we test will be that Black Lime Reserve cross, to see if we successfully Skunked up the vibrant lime and chemical notes in her.
