Hi MJPassion, I know I know lol. It is because of the banana thing. Which is putting a few bananas (the fruit) around the pots of germing seeds, the ethylene gas given off by the ripening banana apparently will cause there to be more females than males. Yes I know, I laughed too.
So I planted 40 Romulan seeds I had in separate rooms. One 20 had bananas the other did not. Banana room 18/20 female. Other room 11/20 females. Same temps, soils, etc. Kind of shocked me. I have done it a few more times when I needed more females and it seems to work.
So is it like reversing a plant with the banana? Or is it the sex is dictated by the environment? Or am I nuts? Big maybe on all of the above lol.
But I highly recommend sticking with Chimera's theory, the man is brilliant.

SeafOur ran an experiment a few years back where he asked the IC community to test this seed sex method and report back to him the results. I don't know how many seeds were tested this way but it was a bunch. The results ended up inconclusive. I wish something works as we could save a bunch of resources by not germing males.

This isn't sexing seeds but it is the best surefire way I know of to sex seedlings. I think it costs about 20 bucks so is not really practical for most growers.
The process is fairly straightforward: Someone from the lab can come to your growing site and collect DNA samples and take them back to the lab, or you can collect the DNA yourself and mail it to them. Rest assured, you're not sending drugs in the mail because the part of the plant you send in - the cotyledon, or the first set of rounded leaves - contains no THC.

we have discussed lab testing for sex before..the prices have come down..but when you sprout 72 or more usually its not worth it...I don't mind the males as I do some smalltime breeding...yeehaw

Sex determination is different than gender expression.
Growers use different light cycles, hormones, feeding schedules etc (environmental triggers) to manipulate gender expressions all the time.
