Not the same guy (he was, I believe, from Minnesota), but South America to Alaska, or vice versa.

At either end of some similar long journeys, a person can often find a really good deal on a used motorcycle.

:)

Just make sure you look over the bike really closely. :)

OK!! Just stop that!! :)

Where can I pick up a mere lb. or so of burger? :)

Edit: Maybe a thick tender top sirloin steak, too?
Sorry - years gone by. My brother hunted that one. He was as close to wild indian as a whitebred can get in those times.

I was primarily joking.

I lived on moose meat for decades and raised our three kids on the stuff for many years, crave the taste of good, well-handled moose meat, and my back etc., won't permit me to harvest it at this time.

I might be able to handle field-dressing a caribou at this time.. MAYBE. But have not the taste for caribou that I do for moose, and the caribou protein strands are such that, similar to that of snowshoe hare, are not as accessible or nutritious for us lighter-shaded people who lack the length of intestines that northern First Nations people tend to have.

The valuable lessons one learns in Arctic biology classes. :)

I figured. My favorite ungulate meat is elk.
We have elk up here, both on private 'hunting properties' (more or less game ranches) as well as relocated wild herds.

Dall sheep is my all-time favorite, followed by Sitka Blacktail deer, but the deer tend to be a coastal or Island food source, and the Dall sheep are a lot of (often) higher altitude/mountain meat with less return for effort. So the Dall sheep I've eaten in the past have been the result of someone else's bullets, and they're also sought after by trophy hunters, making permits and animals a bit less available than years prior.

Moose, for me, are like the difference between shopping bulk foods wholesale, versus shopping at the corner retail store.
