Just poppin' in to peek and give ya' a shout out. Thank the powers that be that I'm back. That was an unnecessary hassle (Maryland). You're gonna crack up though: my buddy had to elbow me in the ribs really hard because at about 15 minutes into our "seminar" I started snoring hardcore like a chain-saw. He said everyone stopped and looked right at me especially the host (who's a bigwig VP of a large international organization). I proceeded to go in and out of consciousness from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. while it was going on. I tried with all my might to stay awake but it was an uphill battle. Then I had to endure the same B.S. today...only with double the caffeine pumping through me. Still had me going like they shot me with tranquilizer guns.
I felt like saying: "Man....I can't help that YOU'RE BORING! So don't give me that surprised look".
Then we almost got pinched high-school style last night: My friend and I couldn't puff in the hotel...we tried that the 1st day and stunk the whole place up like Amsterdam....he got all paranoid about it in the "non-smoking" room. So we took a walk last night into the parking lot and sat behind the building on a park bench. He was smoking a really large cuban cigar....and I of course had the super-giant bone rolled for the occassion. The kind of joint that leaves "tear-gas" thick smoke in billowing clouds even outdoors. A giant cumulus looking cloud floats over to the service entrance....and a guy in a tuxedo walks out right into it and starts coughing.
I stow the smouldering 'J' in my palm like a stage-magician while my buddy apologizes for the "cigar" smoke. The guy gave us a surprised but menacing look and ducked back inside. Hope that employee doesn't have to get drug tested....cause he'll certainly have issues. In either event we decided it might be best to take a walk and finish the green monster which knocked my boy out and got me in the zone.
It's so strange, because deep in my heart I know that the U.S. shouldn't be like this at all. I should be able to freely puff what I want. Being in another country where it's perfectly permissable and legal...and then coming back here is a culture shock. I know med-states are the next best thing...but there's nothing quite as cool as not having to be a "patient" and not make pretenses that you're smoking to alleviate pain/anxiety...whatever.
My friend and I were discussing this and of course came back to the subject of legalization/decriminalization in the U.S.. It dawned on me the following would eventually occur: when every or most states make positive medical marijuana laws....a political candiate in the office of president that doesn't "frown" upon pot will then be able to say "listen....I might not agree with this, but ALL the states have issued their own policies...as a representative of the people, I'm going to honor the wishes of the populace which have already spoken and decriminalize marijuana". Then that president won't have the onus of looking like the guy that "legalized" pot. Let's face it...there is a stigma from certain ultra-conservatives about this....so even if I was president, I'd be hard pressed to do it without feeling alot of negative pressure and press.
Then it occurred to me that there's alot more difficulty to just "legalization" because if pot is "legal" there must be some analogous way of determining if someone is "too" baked to drive (I know that sounds ridiculous but people that don't know about pot will probably not think that's ridiculous). Pot will have to be regulated the same way that alcohol is. As far as I know, there's no "established" limit, and no easy way to tell how much pot is in someone's system. Plus, there's tons of different cannibanoids that affect how a user feels and acts....so it's not just a look at the amount of THC in their system actively. To compound that problem...the tests that do look at THC look at in the blood....people that smoke alot will have higher concentrations overall...so there's no foolproof way I know of to test someone for current use. With alcohol, it's easy to tell if someone's "over the limit".
To add injury to insult, what happens when people want to combine different drugs together: like I want to smoke a large joint, and I want a few beers. I may be under the limit for alcohol, but the joint then works synergystically to create a combined "high". So it would be very difficult to judge someone's competency behind the wheel. You're pretty much left with no ability to accurately gauge anything except alcohol concentration in the blood....and then you'd have to run a battery of psychological and physical tests to see if the person's capable.
Lastly: if you legalize pot (which I'm all for....), then you'll have other people that say: "hey...I can break off a few lines of coke and I don't have a problem stopping....it should be legalized too." I'm one of those people: I don't go out of my way for any white, but if it were in front of me I'd rip a bump off and I can then leave it alone. It's not like "potato chips" for me...I can in fact "eat just one". So now people would have to be empathetic about the introduction of laws that favor the use of another substance.
Pot in essence becomes a "gateway" drug for the legalization of other substances....because in all fairness: there are other drugs people can do and maintain relative control (like mushies...although I strongly suggest not driving).
It's all a question of where do you want to draw the line in the sand, and once you do: how do you establish that someone's crossed it?

accesdnx: (i know im stepping back here a few pages, but i just got back from a 4 day festi) the reason some doses are racey and some doses are clean are because of the different manufacture methods used by the different familys producing LSD crystal. the more impurities, the more "racey" or "speedy" the effects, do to a higher amount of other lysergic/precuror compounds left in the crystal. the amber family is notorious for there "lavender" crystal which is dirty as fuck (only around 70% pure per gram) and will produce a very speedy effect, interestingly enough, the swiss crystal, wich is almost 95% pure can have quite the speedy effect to it as well. even more interesting is that the white fluff and needle point which are usually around 90% pure per gram dont produce much of a speedy effect at all, while being increadibly colorful. and then theres the GDF head stash all i have to say about that stuff is "lodi, dodi, we cames to party". Bear said he lost up to 20% of his product during washing, but he considered it worth it as his product was/is over 99% pure
either way, doses are the shit, and anyone who says there not around has to get out and hit the lot!

lol yup. been laying low. after the WJxTW harvest, haven't had anything going on really except watching the Purple Urkles veg out. had a pretty busy lot, on the personal side, too, you know how it is. pimpin aint easy haha

Raist: Yeah, the cloner is pumping better than I even imagined. 
You may have to adopt that "colored" plastic party toothpick idea for better organization. You'll find that you may want to switch positions of the clones from time to time in the unit because of light distribution....and you'll notice that there are some "sweeter" developmental spots in the cloner where you practically always get robust root growth....other slots where not as much. I don't know how to account for it, but certain rows always seem to do better in mine. Everything does fantastic, but I have noticed that the ones on the periphery get better and faster roots for whatever reason.
All I can say is I'm proud of you my boy......
I took some cuts on the 28th....and didn't look at them until today. They've already got legs good enough for transplant. I'm waiting for some real spaghetti though while I'm on standby to fill the SOG chamber with 4 more gals. Probably 1 Ice cream and 3 Ed Rosenthals.
Clorox: you didn't even say much about the show man....I'm living vicariously through your Gathering of the Vibes experience....fill me in.

so we roll up thursday and set up camp, a quick phone call, meet an old aquaintance and cop a sheet of some fire white on white, nothin to do but take a tester 5 strip, cook some food and let things settle in, after a light meal and a walk to the stage things are getting interesting, just in time for the tail end of donna jean, and we stuck around for Dark Star Orchestra.
needless to say, as the music intensified, so did the visuals, and soon my whole visual field was fractalized. at this point, my boy was starting to freak out a little bit, so we headed back to the camp and smoked some sour diesel and chilled out. just so happens another old friend walked boy and hit us off with a killer deal on a molly.
for those who arent aware, bad trip + bump of molly = problem solved. my boy went from down in the dumps to lovin life. we glowsticked and grooved, smoked some more herb and walked around by the beach untill we were finally able to pass out.
we woke up friday to more sour diesel, and a new mission: aquire the best hash possible. this would prove to be more difficult than one would think, with alot of people trying to pass off some sketchy stuff as hash. finally we were able to score some super dank afghani black hash, i got 5 grams for 85 bucks, and the chunk i got has a piece of the gold seal from the block on it
about this time it was getting late in the day, and you guessed it, time for more doses, we ate a 10 strip a peace and made our way over to the festi for Deep banana blackout. trippin hard and molly o'plenty we danced to the funk till our legs were numb, than walked back to the camp aquire some opium on the way, we got pretty faded and i actually woke up in my chair the next morning lol.sataurday, the big day, phil lesh, oh baby! we went all out for phil, 15 hits a piece, after all, tolerance is a bitch, and we like to trip HARD. this set was FIRE. he played for 4 and half hours while we danced and bumped molly and smoked fat bowls of sour D topped with hash. i dont remember the exact set list, and i was pretty spun so bear with me on this one: i know you rider, all along the watchtower, dire wolf, crazy electronica jam, box of rain, cumberland mind, goin down the road, mountains of the moon, not fade away, and many many more, this show was AMAZING!!!!!
sunday, we just chilled out, smoked the last of our nugs, and watched derek trucks, and then dance partied to umphreys mcgee, packed our stuff up and drove home,
and here i am telling it all to you!

Raist: I would say it's equivocal. There's a few gals that have WAY too much stem IMO...and others look kind of stubby. You should know that some people deliberately "butterfly" their clone stems to increase the surface area for roots to develop. I can't get a enough of a close up image to really evaluate the tips.
Make sure you're doing a real clean cut off the plants at a 45 degree angle. You probably don't want more than 3 internodes on any clone.
I can't tell why things are bending....they don't look that way on my gals. I would hope that you're not pushing the clones through the top of the neoprene caps. I actually take a neoprene cap and "separate it" enough so I can slide the clone in from the side. I don't try to push it down into the center.
This is going to sound silly and I hope you haven't done this: you didn't "push" them down into the center of the crosshair did you? That's the only thing I can think of: mechanical trauma from insertion into the neoprene. You gotta open it like a pacman mouth and slide the clone in like a baby.....
In spite of it all, I betcha some of those cuts will sprout legs. But I'm going to defer to the other ez-cloner experts here (chubbynugs...you got some input?)
Clorox: You insane mo-fo. I wish I knew you back in the day.....actually I wish I was with you at the show getting to know ya' now. I don't think I'd be sucking back 15 tabs....but I think I could keep up with ya. Plus I would have styled you out with some nitrous.....I can see the need for molly...but there's nothing quite as insane as some psychedelic anesthesia to quell your acid waves. The show sounds off the hook....certainly beats my lame ass seminar. That's where I went instead of the gathering. We were gonna tell our wifes we had to goto a seminar and jet there instead...but I got shanked into taking a seminar...(insert "wah...wah...wah..." disappointed trumpet noise).
The only thing is I was probably as high at the seminar as I would have been at the concert....minus the acid. How were the crowes? Did you catch their act?

The "wah-wah-wah" noise you're talking about is that nitrous echo....LOL.
I was referring to the stereotypical "wah....wah....wah.....wah" that you hear when something goes wrong in a comical way in a cartoon or sitcom. You know, where the main protagonist like Wile E. Coyote goes flying off a cliff with his Acme rocket shoes that explode.....
Now I would PREFER of course the wah-wah that comes with a frosty cold balloon....but I thought it would be problematic bringing a whole tank with me to a prissy Hilton where a bunch of antique uptight peeps were.
By the way: that sheet literally made me salivate. It was totally Pavlovian. I had a whole wave of pychedelia imagining sucking that thing down.
I'm glad you had a blast at Vibes. Believe me I would have been there if at all humanly possible. I was talking that whole event up months ago and in the Dead Head Thread...I used to goto that University.....I could walk down to the park from our old house and chill on the beach.
Now it's time to prepare for the show I CAN hit: NIN @ The Mohegan Sun. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaw. I think I'll hold off on the mushies for that event though...way too off the chart intense...I think I'd lose my mind.

On a side note, a long time ago, I saw a bootleg video for Broken(NIN) where they had this guy hangin from his wrists and they just went at him with torches,pliars,scissors etc..this was NOT the regular video, but rather 15-20 minutes of torture in black and white. I really thought it was real, and the beginning of a snuff, but the copy I had ended abruptly and I thought it was just cut off from what it should have been. This was back in the late 90's. :hazy:

gets roots in 1-3 days no problem
no leaves to get in the way, so you can really pack the stems in there tightly
